Using Binance at the moment. Is that one of the best, or there are better ones?  I live in Sydney Australia by the way.

And which exchange has the lowest fees?

And do I need to provide photo ID etc to join them and to start buying coins?

Thanks:)

Yeah, Bittrex was never hacked before and I haven't any problem with deposit/withdrawal for more than a year there.

I thinking both of the bittrex and binance are good for trading altcoins, there are plenty of alt coins and the trading volumes are big enough, also the interface are very friendly.

Bittrex its best as majority of trader prefer to use bittrex instead of other exchanges, they have added ethereum token which has further increase the volume and popularity.but they have now done kyc verification setup.so if you are fine with it then verify your account ,then its the best exchange out there.but if you want an anonymous exchange then poloniex is good if you want to trade major coin and if you want to trade new coin then binance and other exchange are good.

I recommend poloniex and bittrex they are popular exchanges mostly recommended by traders, I'm using livecoin also to trade some new coin that has potential increase in the future.

Bittrex and Poloniex. If I want to trade my ERC20 tokens with favorably price I use EtherDelta. It's decentralized exchange. May be it's hard to use, but it could be really profitable to trade there.

Bittrex/Binance - Good support & Well-known exchanges
Cryptopia/Coinexchange - Low-caps/shitcoins/new coins
Kucoin - uprising exchange (could be competitor to binance) Support in telegram is awesome & also gives bonus daily if holding their coin

Depends on your taste of coins  Wink

Because of the open scam accusations against bittrex's misuse of depositor's funds (you can google this online), i highly suggest you go with Poloniex instead.
Poloniex now handles more volume than bittrex and their charts not only look more professional, but are also easier to understand and customize as well.

I'd however recommend not to keep all your coins in one exchange, especially if you have a large amount. Diversification is safest.

I use Bittrex because there is a large selection of altcoins, and tested, unlike Etherdelta and similar they have a decent choice of altos

Go with hitbtc no one would suggest that exchange and like everyone said bittrex is surely the best one but they have also turned out to be like poloniex lately they blocked accounts with more than 20 btc without any particular reason. Obviously not everyone faced this issue but if you are looking for a exchange without any problems use hitbtc it doesn't have any limit , no kyc and has a little lesser volume that bittrex.
