Hi guys,
I have a guy asking me on facebook to connect my wallet to their S9 Antminer. What they request is, I give the  password and ID of my wallet ( when my wallet is empty of course) they will synchronize my wallet to their hard ware, after which I can change the login security credentials and  then fund the wallet. So that I can be earning up to 40% of the fund in my wallet every 9hrs.
My question is, is this real or scam?

With the promises that they are giving you can say right away that they are trying to scam you. Why do they need your password for Electrum if they are going to send you bitcoin they just need your address. And a 40% payment every 9 hours is too high and impossible for anyone to do.

The sad thing is, is that there are so many people out there who make a living on scamming people in this way, if it's sounds too good to be true... it most likely is. S9 miners only make around $15 a day I believe too so it's not much even if it is legit, correct me if I wrong.

Yes, this is definitely a scam! At most, they would just need your wallet to send you money. And a 40% return that often would not be sustainable. The company would not be able to pay out that much money without going under.

Looking for the next great investment

Oh boy, its definitely a scam. Why he want your wallet details?  Please don't give your  wallet details to a stranger. He will finally steal your coins from your wallet. I think I had read a similar case of stealing coins from the wallet 4 months back. It was posted in the service discussion section of this forum. You will find that thread if you search there.

I find it strange that why until now there are still people who share their personal information to others, but it is already known to be very threatening account security that we have. If the person is a friend of our own then I am still worried. In this era everyone will do anything to earn money, they will commit crimes and illegals in order to get a better life. So make sure the ethics in the Internet world is never to share our personal information to others.

Well before the recent BCH rise it was about $4/day for BTC, and $4 for electricity, but now that  BCH went north of $2k mining SHA-256 is profitable, hell BITMAIN just raised the price of s9 from $1200 to $1600, and killed D-3

I think BCH will plummet soon, and then we'll back back to normal, aka mining SHA-256 (BTC clones) will be not worth the cost of electricity.

Scammers are taking advantage of the fact that short term the BCH RISE has made S-9 HOT again, like a zombie coming back to life.

S-9 is dead, and BITMAIN has got nothing new in the pipeline, which is why they're pumping&dumping BCH, cuz its the ONLY way now they can make money, as their HW biz is FUCKED.

Note BCH was pretty much created by BITMAIN, and BITMAIN required BCH for purchase of D-3/L-3 without this the BCH would have died, PEOPLE had to sell USD/BTC to buy BCH, this is why BCH is not dead,

How long  can BITMAIN do this shit?? NOT long, the jig is up, everybody knows that BITMAIN is a fraud.

BITMAIN tried to come out with a ML chip/box, but the ML community refused to pay in advance for non-existant HW, besides google & amazon are both working on ML chips, soon they'll be plentiful.

BITMAIN did ok scamming DUMB MINERS up front for development, but its over,

Same reason JACK LIAO created BTG, cuz all these ASIC HW guys know the HW racket is DEAD.

it is obviously scam and i guess they want to scam you because they think that you will give your password and ID to them. bitcoin mining is not scam but you need to paste you wallet and only the wallet to be add to the setting of S9 Antminer and not your password and ID. i hope that you can save your password and ID in the safe place and don't give to other people. it is tempting for people which don't know the right info about mining and they will give everything to make money.

There is no opinion to think that at all. We see that this is pure scam. To advice the newbie op to should not invest those kind scam attempt. If sharing the personal information or security information to be surely not share with anyone. Whether that is relation or friend or business partner. We should not trust anyone who are all financially connected with you.

Purely and simply a scam, never EVER give out any personal info and definitely not your private keys!!?? They are private for a reason, and once in someone else's hands, your coins are no longer yours!

Password and ID of your wallet , what?
40% increase to your fund every 9 hours , what?

No need to dig much. Aside from the responses here, we have a working mind to know what is an obvious thing or not.

This thread was already answered so you can locked it up now and tell that guy on facebook some sarcastic responses.
