Every time I make a plan with what to do with my coins and try to execute the plan it ends up taking so much longer. It is frustrating every time, because every problem I face is something stupid and could have been prevented. For instance. I sign up for an exchange and mistype the password when signing up. Now I have to wait for support to get back to me, because now I can't get in my account. Ughhh. A while back before the BTG fork happened, I mistyped my bitcoin address by one letter and it screwed the transaction up. I was back and forth with support before it finally got resolved. By then it was too late though. Trying to sell my BCH was a nightmare. I had to jump through so many hoops. By the time I was successful the price had already dropped as I had anticipated. Same thing with BTG. So frustrating. Another thing that took awhile was moving my coins off of Bitfinex, because they spontaneously decided to stop servicing people in the US.
Seems like this crap always seems to happen to me. Right now I'm trying to make a financial move that it is only available for a limited time, but slow random stuff that could have been prevented gets in the way and stops me from doing what I want. It is such a pain. Does anyone else ever feel what I feel? Time is ticking and every second is a possible decrease on my return.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I'd just say learn from your mistakes. I keep my passwords in an electronic document - I accept there's a risk that it could be hacked but I think that's less likely than the issues you've encountered. Then I copy and paste all passwords and addresses from there to where they need to go so there's no error. After all you should be using serious passwords (16 random characters) and crypto addresses are long anyway - no human can type them regularly without inevitable mistakes.

Tell me, why would you or someone else ever want to type an address instead of copy & paste it? While I can understand password issues, is there really any excuse for this? All devices nowadays that you'd use Bitcoin on have copy & paste capabilities. As for me, I've never had any such issues. I use LastPass & I copy the addresses I want to send Bitcoin to. |

To be honest, I also often encountered technical difficulties when trying to sell bitcoin and other altcoyins. Now I prefer to just leave bitcoin alone and just watch the schedule and news, get my chat, bounty, but not sales. Much less trouble.

These are realy mistakes that could drive you wild. Because you know it's your only your fault this has happened. That is why I avoid to type the passwords and Bitcoin addresses, I'd rather copy them to clipboard and paste and always double check before log in or send the coins because you can never be safe enough. Anyway, you should learn something from these mistakes you make.

Just copy and paste addresses and use something like Password Safe or the like for your passwords.

At least you know that you can only blame yourself. That puts you in a superior position compared to so many others who blame companies for their mistakes like messing up addresses, sending to ICOs from exchanges and so on...

I had some kind of issues with the BCH fork and i never received my coins, but i am not worried about that because i know that it was free money, and if things were wrong and i have not received mine, it doesnt mean that i have to be mad for my whole life because it was just free money, it was not "my" money, so i have been quiet since that day because i knew that from the beggining.
You should try to do not be worrying for those kind of things, and pay a little more attention if you want to be more succesfull, those kind of errors are always happening, but it is nothing to worry about..

I can relate with this and the odd thing is that I never learn. I just can't not make plans or I go crazy. I am one of those people who like to fail with a plan than fail without any plan. I'm pretty sure there's a name for this, will have to ask a shrink lol. My mishap wasn't a technical difficulty pe se, I just forgot my bloody password. Now this is a password I have been able to remember with no problems... But this one day I just couldn't. I wanted to buy some EOS and guess what a day later EOS went on an epic run, I think it went up 48%. Then I recalled my password. Needless to say, I still don't own any EOS

Only had one recent issue. I wasn't receiving 2FA emails related to my blockchain.into account and couldn't log in. It seems that AOL/AIM has the blockchain.info domain blocked from receiving emails. Changed the email to a domain other than AOL/AIM and it seems to work ok, now. For AOL/AIM email users, they may want to be aware that they won't receive emails from blockchain.info and possibly other domains related to btc/crypto. Ughhh. A while back before the BTG fork happened, I mistyped my bitcoin address by one letter and it screwed the transaction up. I don't know what the recommended practice is for inputting btc addresses. I usually copy and paste it. Then double check to make certain its the correct address before clicking the send button. Hope that helps. |

Well it depends on the plan you make and how confident you are in it. If you do not believe the whole time then something will happen that will make you lose confidence in your plan and you're going to start thinking of ways to get out of it because you no longer are committed mentally and when that's the case you might as well just move on to the next idea anyways.
