I do agree with bitcoins was a good means of investing money but if you had taken the question being(though you had included the risk) ask, then it will not be safe in every investment you had seen. It is not absolute that all investments would go only on a positive way but there would times that some certain investments would not click thus making them suffer losses.

Bitcoin's volatility was already well known, it's not a surprise. Worse events already happened in the past and Bitcoin overcame them as we can see along its history. For me there isn't better investment at this moment, the proportion between profit and risk is very worthful, balanced, better than many low risk investments that generate nothing and high risk investments that generate nothing too (as investors lose money).

About government's intervention I don't doubt it could affect the price positively, but it will surely have a negative impact over the individuals.

You are misunderstanding completely what bitcoin is about, we are never going to get the same protection than those that have invested their money in a bank, we have choose that path and if you are not happy with it you can sell your bitcoin to someone else since that is never going to happen, governments want us to use their fiat and not bitcoin so you can be sure they are never going to offer that kind of protection to bitcoin holders.

i think bitcoin is safe for investment because so far i am in bitcoin world from 2013 and until now, the price is always gets up and this year, bitcoin reach the highest price. i think in the future, bitcoin price will be more higher than now and in that time, we can make a big profit because we have bitcoin and we are ready to cash out our bitcoin. beside for investment, we can trying to make our bitcoin amount increase by many ways and so far, i am using trading to increase and i think its works for me.
