I own a tiny family business (hobby for me and my girlfriend for now) accepting Bitcoin (we sell BTC merchandise) and we would like to donate portion of the profits to a Bitcoin charity.

I found BitGive, but I want to diversify the donations each month.

So do you know genuine charities similar to BitGive?

Are there any charities using their BTC donations to spread the word about BTC?

Our business is very small, so the donations won't be huge, but we want to help the community somehow.

I've searched through the forum and found quite outdated list from 2014. Also Bitcoin WiKi list appears to be outdated. Found Bitgive through bitcoin.org though

Thanks.

I've never donated to any Bitcoin charities, and I would be the type of person to avoid it as I would rather just donate USD or any other fiat currency. But this is the list of charities that are present at the moment, I haven't read them at all and I'd comb through them and research them if I were you.

Thanks for this, I came across the website but didn't know if it was legit.

If anyone else has other recomendations, it would be very helpful.

Are there any Bitcoin specific charities, focused on education people across the globe, etc?

I really want to thank you for this wonderful initiative of donating from your bitcoin income. However, I really don't think there are any other website that support such charity. Instead you can cash out the amount you want to donate and use the cash to a real-world charity organization. It will serve you purpose of donating from bitcoin income. But there are no other website that supports bitcoin charity programs.

I would like to appreciate your kindness rather than giving you the list of charities.  Rarely we find people with this generous hearts. All the best.

You dont have to donate especially bitcoin. You can always exchange your bitcoins for real money and donate the money to a charity that you know it is trusted. You will probably lose about 10% for exchanging the bitcoin but you are sure that the money are going to someone that needs it.

There are only a few charities that accept bitcoin and I dont think they are very trusted since they are new in this domain. You can never know if they are going to actually help some people with your money because you cannot check them wich with a well-known charity you can see wich people where helped or you can donate especially to a single person.

As of now we cant give any donation or we cant donate in your charity especially to the new users or just a begginer like me, the amout that weve earn is just enough to survive for our daily living. But we are really thankful for doing such thing you did a great help for us, you give us another chance to live in a better life. You have a good heart everyone were very happy on what you did. God will give you more than what you give. Godbless.

I think it will be hard for people to donate bitcoin. Like one have said, he would rather convert it to USD and then donate. I think the value of bitcoin is not for such charity because people are very careful in handling it. It's very valuable.
And as an advice, be careful in donating and choosing sites. As you have said many are outdated and even sites newly made or convincing, others may just be scams. Be careful.

Thanks everyone for the replies. We finally decided to go with Bitgive foundation and also support their GIveTrack projects.

We will donate 10% our store profit each month to the BitGive
