Do you think the business environment around crypto is toxic?

Bitcoin, started as an open-source project. Free for everyone. Bitcoin is not and will not be a business.

Seeing so much altcoins backed by businesses hurts my eyes. Businesses and blockchain, is this even what we want? A business owning our data for a life-time? Can we trust businesses proper usage of our data?

What are your thoughts about the commercialized environment of crypto?
