I meant to put the earnings back in as well but I forgot. Investing is infinitely better than gambling.

Note the "invest all" button.  Saves you having to copy 8 decimal places.

Even more useful is "divest all", because your investment changes every second as people play, so you don't have a hope of typing the right number exactly to get it all out.

Just-Dice.com

Check out the gambling site I made.  It's a dice game, with the following features:

* low 1% house edge
* near-instant rolls
* off-the blockchain, so no blockchain spam
* high limits - currently you can win 21 BTC per roll - and the limits go up daily
* win up to 1 million times your bet
* pick your own odds of winning
* on-site chat room
* provably fair (of course)
* roll "high" or "low"
* keyboard shortcuts for quicker, easier play

The really neat thing about it though is that you can also "be the house", and invest any balance you're not using in the site's bankroll.  Then when other players lose, you win.

For investors, here's the feature list:

* massive 1% house edge Wink
* investing is easy and instant; click the 'invest' tab for details
* take your investment out instantly too
* site operator (that's me) is a long-standing forum member in good standing with the community
* invest as little as 0.01 BTC; no upper limit
* minimal fees of just 1% on net investment profits to cover site expenses

So now you can easily have your own share in a dice game without the hassle and expense of using stock exchanges, passthroughs, etc.  All investments received go instantly to the site's bankroll and increase the maximum bet size offered to players.

Just-Dice.com

Post your user ID (from the 'account' tab) in this thread and I'll credit you a bitcent to get you started.  You are free to gamble, invest, or just withdraw it as you please.  Smiley

I've suspended the promotion for the time being due to an influx of low-count newbie spam bots.  I'll come up with an alternative scheme.  Suggestions welcome.  Smiley

Actually this is pretty cool.

This is terrific. I'm not that excited about dice gaming myself,  but I have some s.dice shares and launched ripplebandit with an investment scheme that until now I thought was the easiest way to let users participate in the bankroll.  You raised the bar - nice work!

I do forsee diminishing risk and return on investment as the size of the bankroll grows.  It might be nice if entrepreneurs could split off and start their own bankroll with a white label dice roller site.  You've already covered all the problems with stability, martingale, dividends.  Keeping the risk/reward rates higher with personal bankrolls might help keep people incentivized to market your excellent product.

This site is a real big difference from satoshi dice, its more similar to some of the newer dice games.

I got a question. I am not great at math, and I also don't understand everything about the house edge.

Since all bets return either 0% or 100% of the player's bet, how is there a house edge?
Or do they only make money from players' losses? That wouldn't be a house edge would it?

wikipedia always gives us the answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino_game

Oh, so "house edge" is defined as:

THE CASINO WILL ALWAYS WIN

If we flip a coin either side have the same odds to land = 1/2 or 1 time on 2.

If you pay me $1 when it land on face and I pay you $1 when it land on tail then there is no edge for both of us. After a large sample ~1000000+ play we should both be break-even.

Now if you pay me $1 when it land on face and I pay you $0.98 it land on tail then I have the advantage.

Over a large sample you will win $0.98 1 time on 2 and lose $1 1 time on 2.

Expected loss on your $1 bet is: ($0.98)(1/2) + (−$1)(1/2)= $0.01 or 1%

Over a large sample I will win 1% of the amount you bet against me.

It doesn't return 100% of the players bet, a small amount less.

Ahh. Now I see. If I play at 50% I would have seen that. But I have been playing at 49.5% chance, which is less than 100% payout.

Clever.

at 50%, you get a payout of 1.98

at 49.5%, you get a payout of 2

see the difference?

That's correct, 1% house edge.

yet another suggestion:

if you've set a password, have an option:  "Require password on withdraw"

(have it be on by default, but users can disable it if they find it annoying)

I don't like the idea that someone could walk up to my computer while I'm away, and withdraw my coins to their own address. Or, if there was some cross-site scripting thingie that could steal my cookie.

Again, I know about google auth, but it is not an option for some people.

Awesome job Dooglus! I played a bit while you were testing the site out, but since it's live now I've established my account. I'm not much for this kind of gambling, but I'm quite drawn to the investing aspect.

Side note - Are you going to maintain statistics on your own site (like SD)? Tongue

Actually this is pretty cool.

I know, right?  Smiley

Overnight a few players raced to see who could win the one-in-a-million bet first.  After hundreds of thousands of 1-satoshi bets vlees finally hit it, multiplying his satoshi by 990,000, winning slightly over a whole US dollar in the process!  Wink

Shit just got to work to log on to play a bit and it does not allow let the site run.  Its just grey no green or red.   Angry

Well just have to invest during the day.

Lucky numbers show up as:
  * green when a bet is won,
  * red when you would have won if only you had picked the opposite bet (hi/lo)
  * grey when you couldn't win the game you played whatever you picked

Overnight almost all bets were trying for the 0.0001% game, and so almost all bets were showing up grey.  Could that be what you saw?
