Muted for 60 seconds might be a joke. It's not the first time i have seen someone being muted/kicked as a joke (on other chatrooms, not on just-dice).

Sorry the Canada ruling, which I would have thought would be a good thing for bitcoin, has forced you to suspend action on just dice and doge dice.  However, I think that is exactly the right call, you've gone above and beyond to be clear with investors and players and I'm inclined to trust your judgement in this case.  I hope you get the servers moved to a place you can operate confidently and maybe even the "play coin" site will be fun.

Good Luck!

Better safe than sorry it seems. The sums of money involved here are huge, and all credit to doog taking the cautious approach. Once the dust settles and things turn out not to be as bad as first thought I'm sure people will re-invest and betting will resume.

Same I appreciate the caution and am glad my coins are returned safely and not seized my trust is well placed
I hope the legal dust settles and re-investing and betting will resume sooner than later
Back to the vault for now

The end of an era for now in safe bitcoin gambling
Kudos to Dooglus and Just-Dice and Deb at Doge-Dice
For their transparency and good betting system Smiley
Even with a 1% house edge it still made a killing and its as close as you could get to a truly honest and fair casino
No higher edge / Building costs like a normal casino

Let the phoenix of Bitcoin gambling rise up again sooner than later

I read the whole thing. I'm pretty certain the new law applies to fiat <-> BTC 'dealings' only. You're jumping into panic mode thinking one nation can govern the world wide web, and currencies outside of their control. JD was not hosted in canada and was not 'targeting' Canadians, what's the logic for applying this to all of bitcoin everywhere in the world?

The end of an era

Gonna stop you right there and cross my fingers. Nowhere did doog say "I'm quitting the business forever and shutting down the site." It's just a hiatus.

Kinda a bummer... When I first heard about Just-Dice having to shut it's doors, I thought "oh great, now I won't get my investment back."
Well that wasn't true. After sending a quick email to the support team and a quick withdraw, everything went smooth.

It's nice to see a Bitcoin gambling related site with so much honesty & sincerity. The community needs more like them!

Good luck guys!

Most, if not all, Western countries have a system, where one can ask the authorities how exactly they're going to apply a certain law. So, in this case there's a need to know if all that KYC stuff applies also to BTC gambling, and not just exchanging BTC/CAD. Also, could JD continue as usual, if they wouldn't accept Canadian clients? That would surely be a suboptimal solution, but better than shutting down completely. I gather that Doog & Deb aren't enthusiastic about registering in Panama, Malta, Gibraltar or similar.

Then they'd still need to do KYC to ensure there are no Canadians amongst their users.

The site ist STILL down after the login for me by the way and only shows the CloudFlare static page.

Fishy? The investments are going down, because doog literally asked everyone to withdraw their bitcoin.

I guess I should take a few seconds out from trying to get the withdrawals working as smoothly as possible to confirm that we are suspending betting and deposits until it becomes clearer what the new Canadian law means for us.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully we will be able to be back up and running at some point, but for now I think it is best if you divest and withdraw your coins.

Obviously there's quite a rush of withdrawals at the moment, and I'm trying my best to keep the hot wallet full.

We don't ever spend unconfirmed "change" outputs, so there's a bit of a bottleneck in that respect. If you can't withdraw now, please wait for a block to be mined and try again.

If you need to withdraw a large (> 50 BTC) amount, please try it on the site first, and if it fails, email doog.justdice@gmail.com repeating the amount, destination address, and userid (number, on the account tab) and I will manually process your withdrawal for you.

Thanks for your patience, and sorry again that I have to do this, but I don't want to risk having your coins confiscated for "money laundering" now that Canada appears to have decided that Bitcoin is money after all.

Depends... banning Canadian ip-addresses might suffice.

Do you use VPN? I've sometimes had problems with that, especially after changing the country. The site is working, I just transferred my coins successfully.
