I was thinking about ordering some custom Bitcoin guitar picks. Not sure how many guitarists we have here, but I think it would be a neat thing to have.
The design would be a black pick, with the classic orange Bitcoin logo on it in the center. The picks would be 1mm thick, and made out of Celluloid.
This will act as sort of a group buy. The more amount of picks all of us buy together, the cheaper it will be.
The price in BTC is a rounded value, you will pay the exact price in BTC when the funds are collected.Quantity | Price per pick
100 85 cents ~
200 65 cents ~
400 55 cents ~
600 50 cents ~
800 45 cents ~
1000 40 cents ~
This price, plus a very low fee for shipping from California (envelope)
The way this will work out: You say how many picks you will order. I will tally up how many picks we are going to purchase between us. Once we hit 100, then we know we will order at least a hundred. Then, if we get enough to reach the next amount, 200, then we will order 200. If we make it to say, 150, that doesn't work because we can only order 100 or 200, so the people who wanted the leftover 50 picks won't get any.
There is a 6-8 week lead time on these picks. I will let this run on until the interest starts dying down. I would prefer to do it all in one shot because of the lead time.
Once I shut it down and I know how many picks are going to be ordered, then I will start to collect the funding. I have done escrowless trades in the past, highest one was for 1 BTC. On WDCForum, I collected over 4.5 BTC worth of funds for a project and followed through on that. Because of my history, I do not feel the need for escrow. If it comes down to a situation where a majority of people who will not buy picks because of trust, or we have an outrageous amount of picks to be ordered leaving us with a high overall value in BTC, then I will be willing to use escrow (through John K) although the cost of the picks will go up a little bit.
I think it would be great if we could get this done. Let me know what you guys think.
I will start it off by buying 10 picks.
