Can someone tell me if we still need to be on the BBP team to earn rewards? And do we still have to do some rosetta work or can it be 100% WDC at this point? Also, one suggestion for the website: List the current wallet version and also put the version number in the name of the file!

Pretend your a BOINC cruncher, You dont know cryptocurrency, I tell you about BiblePay and you click this link: http://wiki.biblepay.org/BOINC_Researcher_SetupWill you succeed? Will you get stuck or confused somewhere? (I assume these crunchers are fairly tech savvy) Is there any incorrect information, is there any information missing? Also Note: The wiki is open for anyone to edit or add notes/comments to! One thing I would add at the beginning after you write that this is assuming the person already has a cruncher would be a link to an external tutorial explaining on how to set that up if they don't. Also maybe a brief explanation of what a cruncher even is. Pretty daunting terminology for the unfamiliar. I think 99% of the problem with integrating this with BBP is that boinc is extremely confusing as is. I remember last year looking into gridcoin and just giving up because there were too many acronyms thrown around and nothing properly explained. You can definitely tell scientists are running that thing!

If you're interested in writing a tutorial with screenshots... you are welcome to do so. You can also get paid in BBP if you submit a proposal before you do the work. If the proposal is approved, you can do the work. Can someone tell me if we still need to be on the BBP team to earn rewards? And do we still have to do some rosetta work or can it be 100% WDC at this point? Also, one suggestion for the website: List the current wallet version and also put the version number in the name of the file! You can't be on team GridCoin or team ByteBall. Other than that, you can be on any team and receive BBP rewards. You just need to register your CPID with the BiblePay blockchain. Can someone tell me if we still need to be on the BBP team to earn rewards? And do we still have to do some rosetta work or can it be 100% WDC at this point? Also, one suggestion for the website: List the current wallet version and also put the version number in the name of the file! I've thought about this idea too, but then someone has to edit the web page each time. You can always download the mandatory releases from here: https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay/releases(sneaky: someone put 1.1.5.9 on there instead of 1.1.5.7) In Windows, you also download the EXE, right-click properties and look under Details tab Once you download the EXE

Missed unbanked payment again last night.
I'm going to venture a guess that unbanked payment "fix" did not fix...
Daily superblock is more 25+ hours for 1 week now. Does PoW difficulty play a role in this?
The superblock happens ever 205 blocks. If the 7 minute block time is completely accurate, then that is once ever 1435 minutes and there are 1440 minute in a day. Looking at the explorer though it doesn't look like the difficulty has changed at all in the last 250 blocks. Is this normal?! The POW difficulty does change regularly, the standard "difficulty" field that the block explorer sees I believe is the superblock difficulty, I will confirm. our blockchain has a difficulty_POW field as well that exposes the POBH/POW (mining) difficulty. This is reflected in the wallet (at the time i'm writing this it's just under 10k). Can someone tell me if we still need to be on the BBP team to earn rewards? And do we still have to do some rosetta work or can it be 100% WDC at this point? Also, one suggestion for the website: List the current wallet version and also put the version number in the name of the file! I agree the display was there prior to the revamp, i'm not sure why it left.

Rob is still around and active, he is just taking a step back from the daily forum interactions. Are you saying he should come in and confirm? We're just offering some "front-line" support for the project. Is getdifficulty pow or podc?
That is the PODC Difficulty edit: adding a github issue so we can throw the POBH(POW) Difficulty in there as well.

Regarding new perspective miners.
Start mining BBP is still hard work. It takes 3 days net time for experienced BBP person to configure it and get first reward. There are big waiting times for CPID synchronization, pool.biblepay.org RAC synchronization and so on. I started in friday morning, without any problem and first reward I will get in tuesday. I haven't lost a minute but because of waiting times it takes 3 days, maybe 4.
What can I say.
Minority from new miners will withstand with this and end this process succesfully. There will be no network growth with rigid system like this. It needs much more simlicity for new miners get in.

I will let the devs know this and see if we have any plans to make mining easier. Thanks for the suggestion.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Important update for the BiblePay Community:Change is important, change can and will change your life! Welcome to some new changes. As Rob posted a few days back, he is looking for someone to "Take Control" of community and offload some of the workload from him. This is a win for decentralization, and makes the core team larger while offloading some of workload from the existing folks. With this in mind, tmike and I are going to be sharing the burden of this position, and will look for others that can aid us in this process. * Social media accounts are being split up for ownership, and control will be shared among several core users, this helps to limit the "single man" liability. * Jaap now has primary primary control over Reddit, and maintains the Telegram * I now have access the the main biblepay twitter account, and will help manage the team that can post tweets on our behalf. * Biblepay Official forums will be transitioned from Rob to a new host, and maintained by tmike and myself. Once this is completed we will have some guidelines for having better discussions over there, and will allow for some more freedom than this ANN thread, as well as some more focused discussions. For those that have been around, you have seen the stuff that has gone on and you know what my stance has been, and should have an idea what it would take for Rob to allow these changes to proceed. We have had some good discussions in private and prayed for Rob and the future of Biblepay. Which helped to facilitate this and shows his willingness to work with us to improve things. What we are looking for from the community is a clean start. I am not taking this lightly, and you should not either. New community guidelines going forward:* Be respectful, think about the children and the lives we are trying to bless through this project. Speak as if they are reading each and every reply. * Post deletions will be limited to topics that have personal or confidential information only. We're working with Rob on the guidelines for this since currently he is the only one with access to delete messages. (Please, don't make this an issue by posting garbage * Work with each other on understanding. We all have different backgrounds, pains, motivations. Let's seek to unify for the sake of our Lord and those we want to keep blessing. * tmike and I will work on support, and relaying topics back to the devs as needed. User support is still encouraged, and welcomed! If everyone plays along, we can transform this community from a hostile environment to something worthy of representing Christ and the original vision of this project. I confirm these positive changes are indeed in effect. Thanks TheSnat and T-Mike for bringing this program online and acting as Community Managers. In the background MIP, Bhavani and I are fully at work on development issues. The CMs (Community Managers) are working on a general announcement. I'm working on a more technical IT announcement containing parallel paths, to be used for our new forum discussions for November - and those discussions ultimately drive changes to our roadmap. We will update the roadmap with preliminary changes after the IT announcement (to stay current). (The actual November discussions may also affect the long term roadmap).

1) For people who already BOINC, Togo wrote a guide to bring them to BiblePay 2) For new BOINC users, Rob made creating Rosetta@Home account automatically Every version of BiblePay is being improved so the process is streamlined. Do you have specific suggestion to improve the process? If not, you're just whining because everyone already knows this.

I wrote one of the reason why you dont have new miners. Its up to dev if he is going to do something with that or not. I dont care a much after all. How to fix is also difficult challenge. If you think of good solution, let me know. I'm sure Rob will appreciate too if you have good idea.

Thinking out loud ....
I don't think the timing is as big an issue as the confirmation things are working ok..
I'm thinking a web page/service, compares data in semi-real time and gives you a status report.
Thoughts? Would you use this, and/or would it help adoption?

Something that shows where you are in the process. Checks various requirements... If met, green check mark. If not met, red X. Seems like something that could easily break if not maintained. See what happened to biblepay-central.org with a little bit of neglect.

Yeah I think that would be a great idea before the whole process is streamlined.

See what happened to biblepay-central.org with a little bit of neglect. I think that is a good idea. The Sparc website does the same thing. You put in the CPID, a yellow checkmark appears, and then goes green when approved, or turns into a red X if there's a problem. It works really well because it let's you see the process. Even if it's yellow for a few days, at least you know it's still in progress. Makes waiting easier. They also have a demo mode, to show the process to a prospective cruncher. http://demo.sparc.network/
