Hi people,

I'm kind new to Bitcointalk.org but not much new in crypto space. I get involved back in 2016 and since them I'm looking into couple projects. Currently, I'm exploring the credit space and solutions on blockchain. I'm aware of this five projects and would like to hear opinions about them. Ripio recently raised 37Mi (p2p). MicroMoney sale is happening now (p2p + data). There is a lot of news about Bloom (data/credit scoring). Swapy (b2b or p2b loans/data/identity, actually not sure). Celsius (p2p).

https://www.micromoney.io/
https://ripiocredit.network/
https://hellobloom.io/
https://swapy.network
https://celsius.network/

The credit space is HUGE, so I believe although there is more than one-two solutions, it seems to have space to everyone. However, I've read about startups that tried p2p lending before (eg.: BTCJam) and it end up not working as expected since some borrowers were not paying back. What are your opinions on that?

Do you know any other project? Please, add it below so we can start discussing them too.

The forum strives to allow free discussion of any ideas. All policies are built around this principle. This doesn't mean you can post garbage, though: posts should actually contain ideas, and these ideas should be argued reasonably.

Great! Wishfinance seems to be a cool project too in the same industry. I will take a look at them. At first, their whitepaper is a thing that I didn't like since it is colorful. I mean, it is difficult print/read. As soon as I learn more about them I will drop my impressions here.

You can add Salt to the list.  You put up your current crypto as collateral and the loan is managed through smartcontracts so payment is guaranteed.
It seems like a great way to secure loans but there are some annoying things.

You have to use the salt token to purchase membership with them to get a loan.
Also, you can only borrow as much as your collateral.  That means that newbies starting out (who would most likely want to use the service to get more fiat to invest more) would not have much to borrow since they can't offer up much collateral.

ripio is really hyped now, but they are mostly targeting those who don't have bank access in south america.
Although that sounds like a great market, it is pretty counterintuitive as the demographic they are targeting is pretty much oblivious to crypto, the learning and adaptability curve is going to be huge and penetration into the market will be very difficult.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely read more about Salt, it seems a good product too. I kind share your vision about Ripio, the only thing I would mention is that they have I strong team with previous successful project on Bitcoin space in Latin America. When I think about the Latin America market, one thing that is a point to attack is the inflation in the main economies there (Mexico, Argentina e Brazil). Also, they have a huge market with a good opportunity. However, it seems they are starting now to get to know more about cryptocurrencies. According to their materials, both Ripio and Swapy have their origins in South America so they have challenges to face.

MicroMoney (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2199477.0)

Swapy (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2372636.0)

Hi, these are cool resources about your project, specially the public alpha and the Draper's words. I saw at your project's website that Draper is one of your early investors, but considering his tweet it seems he is more involved than I imagined. Sounds like he strongly support your idea and that is really positive. Could you briefly explain me what are the differences between your model and p2p lending? Thanks!

Such projects need long time to make their coin pump hard therefore I like coins which are totally based on internet not real life. Things are advancing fast there.

Do we really need special coins to make loans... Why would we if there is always an option to use smart contracts on ethereum or byteball for people who don't feel like trusting others and a chance to use loans given on this forum by trusted members in bitcoin, because they do work rather fine, but surely the first option is better for those who don't have good trust or even status on the forum. Projects based solely on loans don't seem very promising to me, there has to be some other deep idea behind them to be worth something.

Hi, these are cool resources about your project, specially the public alpha and the Draper's words. Sounds like he strongly support your idea and that is really positive. Could you briefly explain me what are the differences between your model and p2p lending? Thanks!

Hi friend. Yes, our team is very talented and committed. We are working around the clock to improve the alpha version based on the new feedbacks. By the way, if you want to try our alpha, please click here: https://www.swapy.network/download

Also, Tim Draper is our earliest investor and greatest supporter. Our CEO tells the story of how he studied at the university he created (Draper University - www.draperuniversity.com) and got investment from him in this post: https://steemit.com/tim/@swapynetwork/silicon-valley-dream-a-thank-you-letter-to-tim-draper-the-riskmaster

Finally, about how we are different from other projects, here are the main points:

1) The founders are from Brazil. In our country, the average loan has a 145% interest rate. We lived the problem of high cost of credit in our own skin. That is why we are so passionate to solve it and we will never give up on it.

2) We are obsessed with compliance and before proposing our solution, we consulted legal experts in three countries: Brazil, USA and Switzerland. Therefore, many other projects that depend on a pure P2P model will not work in Brazil, for example, because the legislation does not allow it.

3) We have world class investors and advisors. We have Tim Draper as our early investor and Don Tapscott as our advisor,

4) Our project is already in public Alpha. You can try it here: https://www.swapy.network/download

5) We are the one stop shop for a cheaper credit, and we work with the existing infrastructure. While some other ICO projects work providing the capital for the loans, and other work providing a credit scoring, Swapy Network is a complete solution for both problems.

6) We are Open Source. Which means that other teams from around the world can join our project and get paid to develop or improve it. We took this decision because we believe that we are #StrongerTogether!

Friend, please, allow me to explain a bit further. In our model, the loans are not in crypto, but in fiat currency of the target country. In our case, we use smartcontracts on Ethereum to solve the three biggest problems which credit companies in developing nations face: (1) The high cost of capital to lend, (2) the lack of trustful information about their clients and (3) the power assymetry between the big banks and the little credit companies.

Today, the capital and the information is controlled by the big conglomerates, but we want to create a world in which the individual has the power and reap the benefits of the universal access to credit.

Please, you can learn more in the section "How it Works": https://www.swapy.network/

Our bounty section for Bitcoin Talk Signatures is very generous. Would you like to join us? Let´s go change the world!
