I agree, if it is anything close to like the 6000rpm Delta fan model "QFR1212GHE",
when it comes to the technical specifications.

I tried to search for a data sheet for the KZ12038B012X fan, which the WhatsMiner has both in front and rear,
but I was unable to find anything.

Delta QFR1212GHE has a max airflow value of 210.4 CFM.

No, you can't quiet down this miner by changing a fan. Sorry.

It produces a lot of heat and needs a high level of cooling.

Loud loud loud loud loud.

and hot hot hot.

these need lots of air flow with good air pressure.  do not alter fans.

sound proof  videos for loud hot miners on my youtube channel

these will lower the sound  12-15 db  and not restrict air flow.

yes get the smaller size

https://www.homedepot.com/p/UltraTouch-48-in-x-6-ft-Radiant-Barrier-30000-11406/100656748

and this fire blanket

https://www.amazon.com/Emergency-survival-Fiberglass-Blanket-fireplace/dp/B071744PRN/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?

use a piece of plywood

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Underlayment-Common-7-32-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-196-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-431178/203183010

make it  1 ft by 6 ft     four pieces

you have a left over  piece 2 ft by 4 foot.

the 4 long pieces make a U shape  line with the liner  you will have a left over piece of liner  use that for the top board.

the box will be 1 ft by 1 ft by 6 foot  the inside will be  11 inches by 11 inches it will fit the miner and the psu.

I realised nobody appears to have any concerns about the temperature. Is 84 degree celsius a very normal working temperature for the chips? What will be their projected lifespan?  Please correct me as I am currently still running on S7s. Bitmain's S7 28nm chips are already failing after long usage at ~60. Although the straight forward profit calculation shows a fast turnaround for ROI. But in the long run, will the repair fees start to close up the gap and S9 will still remain as the more profitable miner.

I've run some S7s with low fan speeds with temps at ~84-85c for extended periods of time as well and they worked for a good year before I sold them. Repair fees could get pretty costly as they might ask for shipment back to China on your own dime just like Bitmain. Replacing the fans with a higher-CFM fan could also work. Just a disadvantage of a high-powered unit, gets more and more difficult to cool em.
