Almost noone probably doing them manually. There are generators that you write your text, choose styling and click generate and you paste it in forum.
Just look for bbcode generator online in google.

only problem is newbie accounts images are not on until you advance to jr member.  

BB-signatures  not allow to use images even for Hero members
