I guess when are buying physical good online, whatever mode you use for payment, in the end you are handling out lot of Information to the merchant.
Some of the goods are normal but purchasing some of the good directly point to some the crucial data like your health condition or very specific life style of your's or your family.

What I think , can we have a delivery service company sitting in middle that will accept the shipment from the merchant and afterwards it will send it to my home address.

In this service, merchant do not know my address and my identity is saved. Delivery service know my address but they don't know what I ordered so they will not able to guess my lifestyle.

Any data breach (on physical address) only tell that I am online customer but no body will have idea of which products?

Do you think is there any scope for this kind of services?

I guess there are already a kind of service in UK but I can not remember their name at the moment. For privacy this is a good option.

You can also buy postal box. It may cost you £20 to £35 around, not sure about the exact price. May be a little research will do.

you are handling out lot of Information to the merchant.
If you don't trust the merchant with your address, then why are you buying something from him?

What I think , can we have a delivery service company sitting in middle that will accept the shipment from the merchant and afterwards it will send it to my home address.
I don't think such kind of services exist, but you can have a P.O.Box rented so that you can say the merchant to ship to your box. You can be anonymous but it's not completely possible.

In this service, merchant do not know my address and my identity is saved. Delivery service know my address but they don't know what I ordered so they will not able to guess my lifestyle.
On the contrary, services like DHL and FedEx don't ship to P.O.Boxes I believe. But I am not completely sure about this. Either way, USPS ships to PO. Boxes and they are a safer way for preserving your privacy.

Do you mean shipping address? When I saw your title,I thought that you are talking about btc address. Grin
What about Amazon locker points?I think that they were a solution for this problem.
Anyway, the service that you are suggesting might be very helpful.

Data leak can happen anywhere whether I trust the merchant or not. How good and secure system you create, Social Engineering will always going to be big threat.

1. Not everybody will able to send to PO box.
2. I guess, you are responsible to pick the articles from PO box, so you are losing the benefit of home delivery.

It is not just about PO box only, it is just the tip you see. Actual problem is many site require "phone number " also. To be fully anonymous I guess ,lot of other services might be needed.

What about Amazon locker points?I think that they were a solution for this problem.
Nope, They are supplier/Merchant here. They know to whom they rented that locker.

I doubt if any merchant will want to do business that way, because most governments want businesses to reveal their client tx's at a drop of a hat to fight money laundering. A lot of these companies have local laws to adhere to and the middle man will have to adhere to those laws as well.

We have also seen how vulnerable centralized services like this is to hackers, with the latest user data that was stolen from some prominent exchanges and sold on the DarkNet.  Tongue

That's true. But if you order goods from this forum, you better ought to go with trusted people and use PGP encryption while handing over your address or similar to that. Well I am still not sure that you are talking about ordering goods from any other website or this forum, but I haven't seen people using any other services other than a P.O. Box. Also, there are lots of instances which has happened in this forum where the seller misused the buyer's address and threatened him that he would leak his info to public.

2. I guess, you are responsible to pick the articles from PO box, so you are losing the benefit of home delivery.
You need to make compromises if you are maintaining your privacy and needed to be completely anonymous. OTOH, I guess you should be giving your real name in PO, if you are going for the PO Box services.

It's a good idea, however there are actually many services which already do that and deliver to your home as well like these for example:

http://www.borderlinx.com/
https://www.shipito.com/
https://www.viabox.com/

They are mainly used to bypass restrictions on certain products just sold in a particular country rather than for pricacy, as far as i know.

There are a lot of middle men or buying services existing already and I only use it to buy something that can't be locally shipped to my country, yes there is an added benefit of not adding much more information needed to the merchant but that is not why I am using their services for. On your example I think buying medicine or anything that requires prescription must be required before you can even input an order, they are obliged to receive your info if you really need those medicines as there businesses are always on the line in one wrong move.

In my opinion I really don't care if I am handing my info to any merchant as long as they are trustworthy and has a reputable background, as I know these businesses won't be doing anything illegal with your info for their personal gain.

Look like we have already  some business in this field, This is what I am exactly thinking of.
PO boxes will not solve the purpose.
locking it now.
