Hello All!

I have tried to recover my armory wallet with root key but still shows zero balance. The wallet successfully recovers and it has been sitting at zero balacne for 24 hours now.
I have used the extreme db erase and reinstall with armory with still no luck. Nothing unusual happens with the program either, the CMD window opens up etc.

I am somewhat new to armory and was wondering where to look for pointers as I have exhausted my abilities. I have contacted Bitcoin Armory and still have no response from them. I also
searched on this forum with no resolution. Any help would be much appreciated at this point.

A couple of questions...

What version of Armory are you using? (given your mention of contacting "Bitcoin Armory", I'm going to assume you used an old version from the old website). The latest versions are available here: https://github.com/goatpig/BitcoinArmory/releases I recommend using v0.96.4 RC1 (aka v0.96.3.99)

Do you have Bitcoin installed? If so, what version of Bitcoin Core are you using and is it fully synced?

NOTE: DO NOT use: https://www.bitcoinarmory.com/ it is old and outdated and no longer the official website... go here: https://btcarmory.com/

I did download straight from their site, and it was version .96.0
Bitcoin core is v0.15.0.1

Going to try your recommendation now. As far as doing a paper recovery, are there any special steps besides entering root key and secure print code?
**Thanks for help thus far

Okay so even downloading the newer versions didn't seem to resolve the issue =( .

I have my root key info on paper backup; after Armory (v 0.96.3-beta-2b65ac0648) and Bitcoin core (v0.15.0.1) were installed and finished syncing with db, I clicked "Import or Restore wallet".
After which I select "Single-Sheet Backup" and then enter corresponding key info. After restoration, My wallet ID is displayed and Balance of 0.00.
I have bitcoin on my wallet although this does not reflect and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Is Armory showing as "connected" and the correct number of blocks? should be around: 494285 blocks

Also, after restoring the wallet, did you use any of the options in the "Help" menu like "Rescan balances" or "Rebuild and Rescan Databases"...

It might also prove useful if you post your Armorylog.txt... (use www.pastebin.com to copy/paste the contents of the log file, and post just the link here)

Did you export watch only wallet from offline Armory , and then import in the online Armory?

Also

I think the latest Bitcoin Core is incompatible with  0.96.3.  You need to either downgrade Bitcoin Core or upgrade Armory to the release candidate.

My Armory does show connected and online with 494456 blocks currently. I've also used rebuild & rescan balance option, it took sometime but the result was the same. I'm not sure about an exporting of watch only. I have a paper backup for my armory wallet with root key and secureprint code. When I use the import or recover wallet option, I enter all of the corresponding info in. After which, it shows my wallet with correct walled ID just no balance, which there should be. I do have another paper backup I have found but it is a fragment backup which also has my secureprint code on it. However the fragment backup needs 2 out of the 3, and I cannot seem to locate them at this time.

I haven't had any crashes or anything with the program itself and I can provide the file dump as requested when I get back home. I just really hope all isn't lost. Again thanks for the help thus far!

Is that paper backup actually generating the same addresses that have your balance? Or is it generating completely different addresses?

Also, have you checked those addresses on a block explorer?

Paper backup is only for offline armory, you cannot see any balance there!

1. So you must recover paper backup in offline armory,
2. then you need to export watch only wallet from offline armory,
3. then import in online armory.
You only can see the balance in online armory with imported watch only wallet from offline armory.

Start Bitcoin Armory offline
Import or Restore Wallet option
Single-Sheet backup option
Version 1.35c (2lines) option
Restore wallet option
Then
Wallet properties
Export watching-only data option
Export watching-only wallet file option??
Save

Restart Bitcoin Online
Wallet properties option
Delete/remove wallet
Then
Import or restore wallet option
Import digital backup or watching-only wallet option??
Continue

**I still do not see balance, I rescanned balance as well. Bitcoin armory shows 494686 Blocks

I am currently 494706 blocks on my end as of now. I'm not sure what you mean by start syn.

Bitcoin core and armory are both synced from what I can tell. Bitcoin core nor armory show any BTC.
Someone mentioned something about private keys, I can see a bunch of those if that means anything.

Bitcoin core is v0.15.1

I'll repeat my question... have you checked the addresses (that Armory has generated from your paper backup) on a block explorer? Do they actually contain any BTC?

From your case, if you completely set up Armory online, that may be your wallet is empty???so shows 0 balance

You can get your private keys from offline wallet, but you need to check which address have btc from online watch wallet. Then you can also export the key to import other supported wallet to get the btc, that is not recommended!!!

I am currently 494706 blocks on my end as of now. I'm not sure what you mean by start syn.

Yes, he also can use those addresses to check they actually contain any BTC?
Use public keys=addresses (not private key)
