32 out of 50 states are Bankrupt!

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-05-20/six-years-into-recovery-u-s-states-struggle-to-balance-budgets

The same goes for virtually every government around the world. It's time for Honest Money (Crypto currency), and to force politicians to live within a budget like everyone else!

The multipools are wasting hash rate. Each time they jump in the KGW tosses them out. Maybe it's not perfect, but it's better than the alternative. If you were mining all along, you get paid, and the price of your coins is goes up thanks to the multipools making them more scarce.

Price is going ballistic on BTC38.  Grin

Correct me if I am wrong, but KGW was supposed to fight this kind of behaviour. All coins had it without KGW.

Now MEC has it with KGW? Mindfuck...

You are correct, but back in the day we didn't have multipools jumping on coins with 50 to 600gh/s or more. The KGW is apparently seeing this as a 51% attack, and kicking their hash rate out. I'm fine with it. It is slowing down the block progression, but at least these morons aren't getting any coins. If you are a normal miner with a few kh/s to a few hundred kh/s, it is a good thing. If you are in a multipool, you are out of luck.  Grin

I'm sure this will be adjusted in the near future, for now it's a minor inconvenience for honest miners.

yep, confirmed. There are problems with the network. Hours without blocks. No transactions possible.
I recommend not buying coins until we hear from the devteam.
Can't buy a coin in this condition.

No offense, but you seem to be a little under-educated on KGW and/or the coin itself.

I'm not a huge fan of chart data, but:

Click on the 1-day, and 3-day data.

Transactions have been processing just fine. The KGW has been keeping our network secure from what it believed was a 51% attack. This massive hash rate has only made Megacoin more rare, and caused the price to rise. Get'em now because the price is going up...  Grin

Nobody can transact? There have been tons of transactions made all day. What exchange are you using? Or you didn't bother to read my last post?

and they both say the same as my wallet.

So what are you saying again?

Try reading what we have been telling you! You said "Nobody can transact". Have you tried moving coins to another wallet, or buying coins or selling coins at an exchange? Works perfectly. If you don't pay attention we can't help you.

Okay, let's start with clear English. Your spelling and sentence structure are incorrect!  Smiley

I have a number of Megacoin wallets, and all of them sync just fine. Is the machine you are trying to sync connected to the Internet? Did you allow the MegacoinQT client access through the firewall? Are you buying or selling from an exchange? Please read the previous posts again if you can't figure it out...

If I install a new wallet, it downloads the blockchain at blazing speed. If I send coins to another wallet, or exchange, it is also lightning fast. Not sure what you are doing wrong? I would suggest asking one of your friends that is better informed to help you.

Was able to sync briefly. Now 1 hour no new block on the network. Is megacoin attacked or did something brake down?
The blockexplorer shows clearly blocks aren't produced at normal speed. https://bitinfocharts.com/de/megacoin/explorer/

There are bursts of blocks  and hour long delays in between. I guess we need an update, huh?

Don't play dumb btw as if everything was fine. It's not. Anyone can read the bloody explorer.

Very large multi-coin mining pools have been moving in and picking off easy (low-difficulty) profitable MEC blocks.  As they do that, KGW ultimately retargets at a much higher difficulty, causing the mining pools to move on to a different coin.  You could definitely call that an 'attack' on the coin, but each time it is mitigated by KGW.  Unfortunately when the big pools move on to something more profitable, the difficulty is left much higher than normal, and it can take quite a bit of time before you see the next block solved.  Once that happens however, KGW then drops the difficulty drastically and at the moment the entire process repeats itself.  Big mining pools detect the new low difficulty and move back in.

I see. Txs get confirmed though after some waiting so it's still functional.
I'd suggest to rent some hash and put on your miners and put it on the coin to mitigate the effect of the poolhoppers!
Maybe drive up the base hash a little so we get more evenly blocks?
Give it more hash, guys.
