Hello how are you?
the truth is that i install version 2.3 but it does not synchronize. and I do not know how to add the nodes and I do not know how to connect it. I admit, I am very inferior to you. Maybe I exaggerate, but if a friend wants to make a YouTube video showing step by step how to achieve it, I'll always be grateful for it. always. if I knew how to do it, I would help others. i need the wallet. :/

So, I imagine most who have a lot of bottlecaps believe it's important to get on an good exchange at sometime in the future.  Did you read that bit about BarterDEX?

About getting on another exchange, here is something from the TALK coin thread:

Is TALK on any exchanges now?
Should really try and get it on jl777's BarterDEX before that becomes difficult after the inevitable rush.

How?  with $$$?

Join Komodo slack, then ask for assistance , the dev team behind BarterDEX are extremely helpful, one of the best communities in crypto, jl777 sets a great example and leads by example too, hard working, always available to discuss things, good humored, patient.

afaik listing on BarterDEX is free, but TALK community needs to do some 'work' too, not like a centralised exchange where you pay $$ and they do everything for you.

or maybe some of us have seen new coin services go horribly wrong too many times and prefer to wait for a track record before associating with it.
once a coin gets associated with something that's gone wrong, that coin will never be able to recover.

i have no need for pumps and bubbles and the 'next great thing' personally, patience is undervalued now days. the long game is far more interesting than adrenaline induced decision making.

but then, i'm not a large bag holder (only about 73k caps) so my opinion is only worth what you paid for it Cheesy Cheesy

Just a guess, but I think you may have upgraded past the fork point, so instead of your client following the fork with other upgraded clients, you're stuck on a little stub with anyone else who didn't upgrade in time. The main chain is being extended but your client ignores the blocks because none link to the end of the chain you have.

I don't know if the bottlecaps client is able to "rewind" the blockchain to resync from the fork point. Based on my experience with other coin clients, I'd say not. That means you'll need to restore your blockchain database from an older backup (if you have it) or sync from scratch.

I just uploaded the latest wallet and it is working great! Is there a pool out there that still supports this coin?

Better yet is there a procedure somewhere that describes the process for how to solo mine bottlecaps?

or not quite from scratch. in your AppData folder for caps delete (only) the blk0002.dat and blkindex.dat files.

the blk0001.dat you keep and it should take you up to mid July 2017.

then start the latest version of caps program with the -reindex command line option

Something I posted for HBN. It is about the same. Different port, and config name obviously.

Looks like Cryptopia isn't dead yet. They changed the info for Caps to working with Dev to restore user's coins.

Hi

My first ever post on this forum even though I am a long time lurker here. Anyway I opened a support ticket at Tradesatoshi about outdated wallet.

My ticket: "Please update your CAP wallet because it's outdated. Can't deposit until it's updated. Update: https://github.com/Tranz5/bottlecaps/releases The version 2.3.0 is the latest."

They closed it with comments: "DEV of CAP not contact about any update. We apologize that we can't take any changing without request."

My ticket was closed in few hours after I opened it, so I guess I just got "lucky".

Their status info for CAPS say https://github.com/bottlecaps-foundation/bottlecaps is the Github link. So maybe they deem https://github.com/Tranz5/bottlecaps/releases as untrustworthy?

Possibly... @Tranz, if you could, it might be worth it to go and see if they'll talk to you?

The bottle-caps foundation already pulled my request in. So that will github work.  Who do they think the developer is to contact them?   I would say just about anyone can say they are the developer ;-)

I wondered that too ie. how can they possibly determine who the real dev is. Anyway I will open a new support ticket to upgrade their wallet from bottlecaps-foundation. Shouldn't be a problem that way (hopefully Smiley)
