In my own opinion here in our country the biggest problem would be corruption.  Corruption might be simple but it complicate all problems like It will complicate into poverty or complicate into killings. We cannot say that corruption is only practice in the government. Corruption may start in the family, school or either at work.  Corruption is a wide spread problem in our country and our president is slowly taking out those big individuals who are involved in this problem what we called corruption.

Ugh... So many taxes, biggest pay cuts, most expensive goods and services. Then rampantly see the government officials flaunt their ill gotten wealth and the fruits of their thievery. There is no actual heart to serve their constituents and only serve themselves and anyone who could forward their own gain. Corruption among government officials is not the major reason for poverty in the Philippines. The major reason is the uncontrolled population explosion (the same problem is here in India), fueled by the Catholic church's opposition to family planning. Philippines is a small country not capable of sustaining a population of over 100 million people.

Actually, that is what this social activists are using, they are using the emotions of the people, just observe how the president and other local leaders win the election, it is not because of their performance but because they want to catch the attention of the people thru their emotion, sensationalizing the events. Most people here loves to watch teledrama.

The biggest problem in my country facing is Corruption in the government. The people are charged with taxes but we end up having inefficient implementation of road and traffic rules, lack of a flood control system, and "road constructions" (They destroy some roads then immediately "fix" it, as a tactic for kickback). Even if, let's say, we have a good president, it would still be difficult for him to implement good governance practices nationwide because the rest of the politicians would not support something that has nothing in it for them. This problem is passed from generation to generation, more so considering the fact that the strongest politicians form dynasties. The problems in the government, collectively, is the primary reason for the rest of the problems.
