Believe me this thing has to be there because as it just adds up lot of security. I have read articles about the 2FA which states that it is almost impossible to crack any layer of the 2FA security pass and it could take years and years to do that if smart hacker wanted to do that. Loosing phone isn’t big problem because you can always retrieve things from eh google itself. They can bring the thing up again if you ahem properly went through the security protocol of the google. So one way around you always have an option. Youc an always get the secret eye from the main site so that you want loose a bit of the security instantly. Always remember to keep the back up of these codes. Google authenticator will also allow you to store 100 keys preloaded and you can print them out and store them so that you can still use them later on.
