What are the reasons to support war?

Can you explain what's the reason? You can say positive as well as negative reasons.
I think the most common reason for war is the urge to capture resources owned by another jurisdiction. For example, the USA frequently goes to war to secure access to energy resources.

Nations usually fight over resources and sometimes ideologies. But since war is an expensive effort (in terms of human life and economically), it is usually done to gain an upper hand on the other nation's resources (human capital, technology, natural resources).

Most of the wars currently active are the result of jockeying for influence by groups on resources. Some large nations also use it to keep smaller nations at bay and held them hostage to the larger nations whims.

Those are the reasons why countries went to war but for reasons to actually start a war? I don't think there's any reasonable reason. Soldiers get to kill each other away from their family and die as well and for what? It doesn't serve any purpose for the betterment of humans.

In the modern world, where military aggression is more widely questioned, countries will often argue that they are fighting in a purely defensive capacity against an aggressor, or potential aggressor.

In my opinion, nithing good comes out of a war. Nothing is gained but a lot is lost. Lives are lost. Homes are lost and even resources are destroyed. So many suffer from wars and it is pointless.

The winner may gain additional territory or funds and that may make up for the loss in lives and livelihoods. But the losing nation will be in a much worse state. They will lose everything and the majority of the population may be inclined towards extracting revenge in any means possible. The cycle will repeat, resulting in more wars, more deaths, and more bitterness.

war is a destructive act of humans. it can lead to the permanent damage of structure or even the whole country just like if one country used nuclear bombs to defend their land, it can washed out the whole country. so, i guess there is no right reason to support war. its just a matter of good communication and understanding what other countries argument.

War is only allowed as a last resort. “ Whenever there is lawlessness and decline of morality the miscreants should be put down to protect the innocent” is how it is put in the classics. This includes self preservation, to protect yourself from invaders. Then all bets are off. Even cornered rats fight.
Reasons would be
1. Patriotism
2. A belief that there is no other option available
3. Because the cause for which you are fighting is just and valid
4. To defend your beliefs, values, country and family which is best done
a) by killing some other mothers son/daughter
b) on somebody elses territory
