Very smart move on their part, imo. Bitcoin does seem like something they'd be all for, and they made a few thousand from donations already.
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

This is off topic, but I was curious: Is Julian Assange still running wikileaks? Or is it run by a consortium of people?
