this is another one of those round numbers that is creating a psychological barrier to break and that is creating some resistance and when that happens, all the technical analysts starts forming up lines for themselves around that number and add to that resistance!
additionally all the altcoin pumps an FUD is creating some sell pressure which is making it harder for the rise to happen fast.

If I'm not mistaken it already hit another all-time high yesterday which is $8000, but it just didn't stay longer at that price and it drops again from $7,900 to $7,700. Maybe a lot expect it and set their bitcoins to be sold at that price. I hope next week it will stabilize at $8k price range.

This is true, the big reason that we can't get over this hump is the thing that Bitcoin will be crushing through another ATH and then people will start calling for 9000, then 10000, and so on and so forth.

But when you think about it, this all has to come crashing down at some point. As all of these technical analysis people look good now as they're calling for more and more gains, but this can't go on forever, I can't see the traders sustaining it.

I agree that there are certain psychological levels, and I think $8,000 might be one but it is not that strong of a barrier considering how far btc has gone up this year.

I believe $10,000 will be the next major psychological level similar to how $1,000 was a major level back in 2013. Sure btc might even go slightly above it briefly, but I think we will see a strong pullback when it gets there, probably back down to $6,000.

I am loving seeing bitcoin at this price. Now everybody should do your own homework prior s/he invests. If you were in it to flip it for a quick buck, then you'll probably have to wait, or may be you did already to get profit. Not everybody have same priorities when it comes to investments. Well as we all witnessed, 8k is now a thing of the past. We're well on our way now to realizing a 10k end of the year value which i think is highly achievable. It is definitely a very historic year for bitcoin overall. We went from around $1k or even less to right now, $8k+ and still counting. I doubt that it's going to be ending soon though, we'll see $10000 or more per coin this year in my opinion.

There will definitely be a drop eventually. If you want to accumulate, i would recommend actually purchasing some right now and leave some for the drop that you're talking about here. It might not even happen, that's the problem.

Yep, there was indeed a adjustment in price that corresponds with the Tether hack. But now things have changed in the positive direction once again and we see prices rise pretty much just as before, perhaps even more tenaciously.

Even if the price goes down, it will be just temporary and no need to worried here. Its just how the market works if you still haven't noticed it. Even if the price goes down, it will be just temporary and no need to worried here. Its just how the market works if you still haven't noticed it. In my opinion, $10,000 would be a huge psychological barrier for BTC to break. It's not that the value is anything special, but the real difference lies in how people perceive it. In the past month BTC has broken through the $6000 and $7000 barriers like they were small pieces of string. Every time it touched the barrier, corrected a little, and then smashed it with an incredible run.

But $10,000 will be another beast. And there's no telling what will happen. A great group of people will say "That's it! I've made my profit and I'm getting out." Another group of people will say "It broke $10,000! This is going to the moon. I'm buying more!" Still another group of people who never owned Bitcoin before will become curios and buy in.

I think the latter two groups will win. Greed is a powerful force, and many will try to see how far they can push this. But there's no telling when those mining whales will decide to cash out...

The truth is that Bitcoin technollogy is not that good, it is slow, it have scalability problems, political problems, high fees, etc; and there are other cryptos that are way more better, better governance, better technology, more descentrilized and with lower fees, and when people realize this, they are going to change from bitcoin to any other better options such as NEM, Monero, Dash, PIVX, Decred, you name it! all better thatn Bitcoin.

Are you checking the price? You can check it on preev from time to time and to be precise, $8,000 has been there for a couple of days. It didn't "almost" hit but it did actually hit it and what's exciting now, the civil war against Bitcoin cash is like on activated again because of articles that are promoting bitcoin cash as "real bitcoin". I'm not into that thing but this is a another pump and dump for BCH and will lead bitcoin to pump again and will definitely going to hit $10,000.

Indeed there are better coin with better tech than Bitcoin, at least they should have from what they claim. But I definitely agree with garytheasshole here, Bitcoins tech is proven! None of the other coins has been put under the same frequence of usage before. So they might also have scalability problems if they were. Best example is Ethereum, the blockchain also got clogged a lot of times already when there was a huge number of transactions happening at the same time. I guess only time will tell which blockchain is really scalable for the masses. Most likely it wont be Bitcoin if crypto really becomes mainstream, but maybe a scalable fork of the Bitcoin. We will see!

Yes, actually everyone was happy because bitcoin have a high value.
A huge population of bitcoin community is just an earner so, it is good new for them because they could exchange their bitcoin in higher amount.

That's the reason so why did the price went down for a while but still since they are able to give solution on it everything went back to normal. We can't do anything for now but to keep the demand increasing by selling our altcoins for bitcoin after profiting to our trades. $10,000 is near to be fetched and we just need patience for it, no one has an idea if that will come on December or on January.
