Everyone in here is desperate to convince each other the Bitcoin can only go up and therefore you have to buy and hold.
But when you buy Bitcoin, someone is selling it to you.
Why are people selling Bitcoin?
The knowledgeable people are the ones who are now slowly selling out before the bubble bursts. When you are now buying more and more Bitcoin ("investing" as people in here call it) who do you think you are buying them from?
You are buying from the knowledgeable people who are slowly getting rid of their Bitcoin.
Based on my experiences, the right to buy bitcoin is in the month of march to august. Which is for me, in this month the price of bitcoin is slowly dumping down. They usually sell their bitcoin because of some problems, financially that they need to fulfill like for daily needs, bills and personal stuff. |

I think one of the reasons for selling is investing in other currencies. Young currencies can still yield 10x, but bitcoin never will! Therefore, I see no reason to save it for long!

I just sell BTC and buy ETH  This may be ending up in good trade because Bitcoins are now quite stable. Not like stable at one point but yes you can say they are stable within a limit. They aren’t moving up in last three months so we can say there are opportunity window that has been created for the sellers to sell and then buy other altcoins. They are cheaper too right now. So trade Bitcoins for them and earn money. |

Bitcoin wasn't selling from anyone at the start, it was mined from the miners then those miners will sell Bitcoins for people who want to own it or exchanges .
So maybe we can say miners are the first one who sold Bitcoin because they're the one created Bitcoin.

There are people who live pay check to pay check in this world and when they need some extra cash than they have to sell their bitcoins to be able to make payments. Also everyone has different target prices at which they want to sell their bitcoins. Plus there are some who end up panic selling at the slightest drop they see in the bitcoin price.

There are many reasons why people sell Bitcoin. Need money, want to divide assets, have a profit, change assets to other coins, cut loss, prices will go down, and others. And the more obvious reason is because of the purchase demand.
