thanks for sharing...
what got my attention in the overview was in 2010, when A programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz, who lived in Florida pays 10,000 Bitcoins on a pizza, that was originally bought from Papa Johns by a volunteer in England. The exchange rate at the time put the purchase price for the pizza at 25USD. comparing the exchange rate between 2010 and now, we can see bitcoin has come to rule the global currencies.

Interesting detailed article. Although in it mostly well-known facts, it is still perfectly read. I hope you continue to write the story Bitcoin

I think we're quite a bit off bitcoin "ruling" the global currencies. But it is certainly interesting that such a simple idea could have such an impact on the way we treat money and the way we treat true ownership rather than relying on a 3rd party for everything Smiley

thank you bro, this what i lookin for, this could be the most i read first, want to know about bitcoin history.

Quote
2007 – It was in 2007 that the concept of the Bitcoin began. It is believed that it was started by Satoshi Nakamoto, although not much is known about him, other than the fact he is on record as living in Japan. In fact, many speculate that this might just be a pseudonym for more than one person. Although soon, this identity completely vanished from the world.

so founded on 2007 not 2009, because i ever read on some blog it was state there bitcoin found on 2009 even on wikipedia.

Quote
October 2009 In October, New Liberty Standard publishes a Bitcoin exchange rate. The value was established and they published a rate of a Bitcoin at 1USD = 1,309.03 BTC. This was decided using an equation that included the cost of the electricity to run the computer that generated Bitcoins.

Bitcoin at 1USD = 1,309.03 BTC, if compare to now rate was so amazing. if that time i already know about bitcoin will invest some my money on bitcoin till now. Grin

Thanks for sharing, Rocky!

Another good resource for learning about the history of Bitcoin is a narrative book called Digital Gold by Nathanial Popper. You can find a review HERE.

This book is the best narrative story of Bitcoin.

The pizza story is definitely the most sad/interesting. I hope that the guy kept at least few coins to himself!

In January 2009, the bitcoin network came into existence with the release of the first open source bitcoin client and the issuance of the first bitcoins, with Satoshi Nakamoto mining the first block of bitcoins ever (known as the genesis block), which had a reward of 50 bitcoins.

Thanks for putting this together!

If you decide to make a next iteration of this first published version you should consider adding in the key players that helped Bitcoin go from an idea in Satoshi's head to a marketplace.

Names like the following all have an important place in this history:

  • Hal Finney
  • Martti Malmi
  • Andreas Antonopoulos
  • Gavin Andressen
  • Roger Ver
  • Mark Karpeles

There are others (and Craig Wright is not one of them.)
