People speculating on Aeon may be out of their mind, seeing as how they are worth half a cent each (as of posting), and it was essentially a blockchain-on-lifesupport until recently when smooth breathed new life into it as a testbed for innovative cryptonote ideas.  I have no connection with smooth, but don't think he should control both speculation topics (as well as being a core dev of both coins) so this will put some neutrality into the ecosystem.

All cryptocurrency should be considered extremely risky, and Aeon is a new and development stage blockchain based on Cryptonote.  As such, it should be considered insanely risky.  In the past month I have bought a significant amount of Aeon, but I consider that money "gone".  If you decide to buy any Aeon, you should too.  No statements in this topic or elsewhere myself or others should be construed as any sort of investment advice because Aeon should never be considered an 'investment'.  It is an experimental cryptocurrency project, regardless of how euphoric this topic may become at times.  Make your own decisions and never believe anything you read without proving it to yourself first.

He still can if he can prove ownership of a bitcoin address that he has posted here in the past. I really hope he recovers it. That account is already a part of Monero's history.

The trading volume is really low but the price remains steady. Very promising but awful if you are trying to accumulate. I keep making the error of thinking that it will go lower but it never does. When I bought at .50 cents and it went to .70, it never really dipped below .70 again. Same goes for when I was buying at 1.20-1.50 and it went to 1.70-2.00. This being the case, I think bbc.reporter's channel graph is spot on. Any advice on when a window might open up to accumulate more? I keep trying to buy but the trading volume is making my trades move like molasses.

Several years as a lurker first time poster on BCT and like the now hacked AmericanPegasus this is a slightly intoxicated first post.

In $ terms the past years have been incredible in BTC / XMR / LTC and every shit coin going. Personally I refuse to profit from any coin which is an ICO or or premine bull-shitcoin but I have been lucky enough to benefit from a modest $ investment in aforementioned coins.  However when the tide goes out all shit coin holders will be found within their pants down so I intend to hold  BTC / XMR and one other coin long term.

Probably like most ppl on BCT I prefer to read and think than type. My first introduction to Aeon was from following through interactions between Anonymint and Smooth back in 2015. I did not venture into Aeon until recently; why though? I do think BTC will be long term store of value but alts will be the medium of exchange. But what alts will be the winners among a plethora of fraudulent shit? Everyone has a smartphone as their computer,  almost every smart individual wants privacy away from the tax man etc? In all the 100's of alts  I have looked at in any detail; Aeon is my big outside bet as becoming a Top 50 coin (joining BBC.reporter etc)

 Why be bullish?
- as much as one can in crypto I trust smooth as an anonymous indentiy aeons more than I trust corporate teams to act for a community
- The early interactions of the original BCT Aeon thread between smooth, AmericanPegasus and others demonstrate foresight into the long term vision for community growth / trust
- no ICO or premine - no fouls of securities laws and; thanks to an early miner there is a huge developer fund of 400k Aeon to help with bountys etc (in trust held by smooth)
- privacy & mobile  - why should anyone know what is in your wallet or where it has been. Come another banking crisis and the move to privacy crypto could be exponential. The need to spend crypto without tax implications will increase the market for all privacy crypto
- rebase - honestly Aeon is 0 without a code rebase. Probably 5x current market cap with a code rebase - $20-$30 range. Longer term Aeon has the potential to be 5-10% of XMR and I'm bullish on XMR which I think will go to $1000+ by end of 2018.  In every post I have seen from smooth I 100% support that approach to provide minimal information for speculation. When the rebase is complete and tested then release. All current speculation is in reality trust in smooth.

In full disclosure in recent weeks I have bought 6k Aeon and hope to add more if we go back below 30k satoshi.

I cannot give you an exact estimate, and I reckon, smooth cannot do it either. But I can tell you that Aeon will be +100% better than it is now after the code rebase. So if it is able to reach 40,000 satoshis in its present form, then we can assume that it will be more than that next year.

But if you really want me to give an estimate, I would say $20 - $25 per Aeon by the end of 2018.

Time frame? I noticed some speculation that the rebase would come out sometime in Q1-2 2018 but I could be wrong and there might be more perfecting needed.

@sammy007. That is good hehe. The market is nice enough to give us more time to keep buying on prices under $5.00. If it goes beyond that and over $10.00, I would consider it as the train is leaving stage. Then once it reaches $30.00, that would be my we have arrived stage.
