We're thrilled to finally announce the imminent birth of SAT, a new and innovative decentralized social network scheduled for ICO on February 12th, 2018.

I think facebook is very popular with its facebook ads now, because many online businessman are talking about facebook ads for their business. It no longer only depends on its social media contents. |

Unfortunately we are still in the stage of persecution and defamation, for sure we will have better days, and those who are pursuing today will surrender to Crypto and everything related. Sphere is a step further and will have its large share in this process
if sphere can get at least 1M active users and open ads platform, it will great. sphere can fight with big platform subh as fb and twitter No platforms can fight with Giants like Facebook and Twitter at this moment. They have a huge market share and people are just lazy to test something new, I'm waiting for the new things apart from them which sphere can offer. that's once said for ICQ,MSN, myspace or else.. Once they are the main messengers or platforms, now they are just some good old memories (to those over 25:) ) Tooting ! In place of the old, something new always comes, if speaking about facebook, I think this social network is outdated and any upgrade would does not help - probably human nature is so arranged that monotony with time annoying. That's for sure! And the current ban has further aggravated the situation on Facebook. Now people will be looking for alternative social network to share information about cryptomite! The Sphere is perfect for that! People always want something new. Facebook has a lot of members, but not all are really active. |

At least the data privacy advantage of sphere will be a good argument to change.
But untill then the project needs money and a good start to publish a product which got features the people expect from a social NW platform.

Well what‘s wrong with Steemit? As far as I know they are growing. Of course not as fast as Facebook did, but if you think about that Facebook is a very strong competition and Steemit mainly for crypto users at the moment. Beside that it is more focused on blogging and still quite userunfriendly. Also they have some very useless rules there like let people use bots to get more upvotes and money but in the same moment they get crazy about if you tag your posts wrong lol the Steemit community is mostly driven by greed instead of good content. And that is maybe the point why Steemit ultimately will fail to get really big.
But Sphere looks much more useful as a ‘replacement‘ for Facebook here, at least in the beginning for crypto user.
Steemit is good, popular social platform. I have used Steemit recent months, it works smoothly. Sphere is likely a competitor for Facebook, not Steemit. They are focus on different targeting users and community. I recently started blogging on Steemit. I must say that it is indeed a steep learning curve, and it's definitely not ready for mass adoption. If their text editor was half as good as bitcointalk's, I'd be so happy. I do agree that Sphere isn't a direct competitor to Steemit, but I am open to blogging on Sphere if it was easier to use & simpler to be rewarded. What different between Steemit and Sphere? How about Golos? This 2 crypto social network which I know, and they are popular (Steemit and Golos). May be Sphere have a chance become popular too  As I said, Steemit is for a different target group and it is more about blogging (even if people are using it for other stuff too). Also it is really user unfriendly in my eyes and has strange rules and in my eyes a community which is driven by greed (not everyone but most). Also there are different parties/fractions of users who are in some kind of war on steemit as you can downvote other ones posts so that they don‘t get a payment. I am really looking forward to Sphere and hopefully a much more userfriendly interface and not such strange rules. |

data privacy only matters to a small group of people. but it is a start. draw those people in and get bigger, then move to draw in others. |
