I just found out about Sphere project and gone through your whitepaper. There are too many ICOs out there which want to raise a lot of money without even having a working product in beta or alpha stage. This project seems really hectic and very promising with a good prototype and development team.

You forget that it's not only making the site/platform, but also marketing, mobile apps, etc. Just making the product is not enough, you have to get people to use it and that takes marketing, not matter how good the product itself is.

You forget that it's not only making the site/platform, but also marketing, mobile apps, etc. Just making the product is not enough, you have to get people to use it and that takes marketing, not matter how good the product itself is.

With facebook there is a solution which is powerfull and many years time for development. The $40M hardcap does makes sense for me. At least the developers foor the platform and frontends, the complete plan how to get profit out of the solution and to get sponsors is hard and the risk ist very high for the invesment.
A small start is not possible. It have to be an alternative to an complex solution facebook.

you are right about the positive effects of the reference programs, but some bad intended people can abuse those referral programs with multi accounts or opening accounts to people which will never use. So It can be deceiving sometimes. Sphere should be cautious about that.

You are right that's important for investors to see how much hype a project has. I would also recommend them to do this.

Showing the results of your project shows to community that you are trusting your project, so every project needs those counters.

Asking that amount of money for a social network site makes me think that they want to achieve something big. With that amount they could invest a lot in marketing to reach as many people as possible and develop the platform.
