I also thought about this, hey we are in crypto, nothing is easier than give some tokens away, which costs you actually nothing.

I am not sure if this is the right approach at the moment. There will be mass of spam accounts. In general I am wondering that the users can resister on platform that early in project. Manny features are missing and the users will not be flashed by the service when using the first time. Maybe they should push it as beta and work on the go live of the final version.

But then these people wouldn't stay with Sphere. Attracting people is one thing, keeping them is another.

There are a constantly increasing number of cyber crimes such as identity theft, private data theft etc., so I'd say people get more cautious. Maybe not all of them are aware about perks of decentralization, but getting rewards for managing your own data sounds like a good incentive to try and figure out what this new platform has to offer.

Are there any other ways to attract a mass attention, apart from airdrops, maybe doing good old commercials? I feel like just referral program might not be enough.

Would be great if scalable. I agree with other voices that will airdrops and bounties be enough to grow a social media platform. I suppose there are cases of this being a success in the past so its probably with a try. I like the idea of a decentralised social media platform. Investing in one is what I'm hesitant to do at the moment just because its so competitive so id personally like to see some solid inroads made before getting my wallet out.
