Globalcoin should be a top 25 coin by the end of the year.
It clearly has top tier branding, the only thing that is negative is that some much inventory comes online daily. A few subsidy halvings and this issue is resolved. I am very long on GLC, and would be loading up right now if Gox had not stolen all of my BTC.
Wow... a Gox survivor  That must've been one scary ride eh... |

Funny story, I deposited my funds roughly Dec. 16th, tried to withdraw, but you "have to be verified to deposit or withdraw". Weird that I was able to deposit then. Fast forward two months of trying to become verified, and its gone.
Ugh.
19.65 BTC gone, and now I have only the 3 I have in cold storage and refuse to take out.
But whatever, when Globalcoin's subsidy is 3.125 in September of 2015 and the general crypto market is 50 times the size it is today, all will be good.

I'm with you. I'm new here but I have researched a lot of coins. Most of which are junk and have very poor profit return after week 1. I chose to mine Globalcoin because it was an older coin that still has a low difficulty. There are to many altcoins coming out right now. I think a line has to be drawn somewhere. I'm trying to stick with coins that are from before this year. I'm not really sure why it isn't a top 25 coin already.

It's still the relatively low value of the coin when exchanged from BTC. If that rises then this becomes a top coin. |

Lol ckoeber Yes, the reason that is low is that 100 coins come online every ~40 seconds and most of those are sold for BTC immediately. This will be cut to 50 Globalcoin in less than 24 hours and again halved to 25 coin in 4.36 months. With the bear market firmly in place on BTC and alts, I do not expect to see a substantial rise any time soon. However, when BTC pops, people will fell more wealthy and start to speculate in Alts again, and that will also draw new folks into the mix. By that time, our subsidy will be less and price higher, so we will start to get the attention that we are warranted. 1 year out I feel we are going to be pretty excited. We also have so cool stuff in the pipeline. The Gobalcoin Group website will be out before our 1 year anniversary. They will focus on furthering Globalcoin's acceptance and doing charitable efforts. MinerMike as far as I know is still working on his projects, so we will see some cool stuff coming out in the future. Obviously, the number of coins coming out will truly have 0 support, so that should become apparent to the market in the coming months.  |

BTC at $600 does the industry zero good. It doesn't even come close to having transactional value until it is at least 20 x where it is now. At over $100 billion in value, it can start to take a small percentage of market share from existing infrastructure.
Really, it need to become 100 to 200 times more valuable.
That is just the way it is.
If you are paying attention to BTC, you know that Jimmy Wales said today that the user base of BTC is effectively 0.
It is true. We need users and users = price gains. If we sit at this level for more than a year, the whole thing is really a bust. We need growth. Volatility is not bad, stagnation is bad.

Also, Pablo, take your negativity elsewhere.  It was not negativity. I like globalcoin, have a lot. It was curiosity. Lowering block reward not always means price increase.
