There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

It was really boring and slow all day, now it's pretty exciting, but the ticker is stuck at:

>>> (Not correct) == "buy":16.75967,"sell":16.75977}}

More than 600k USD in the order book. and that's just in the visible range of approx. 16-14 USD. The real number is prob something like 2M USD.

I have never seen the bid side of the order book this full on mtgox. Something is brewing.

True, the order book is very full. To bad we can't see all the dark pool volume. I wonder if BTC sellers are more likely to use the dark pool. Perhaps because large sellers of BTC are also long time users of BTC and are more likely to know that dark pools exist.

The order books are really crapped up right now. Hard to trade since a bunch of bids/asks aren't real.

The Mt. Gox depth table has some asks below some bids. Something has gone wrong over there.

Rarely anything ever goes right over there.  We really need to get the volume over to another exchange.  I'm hoping this new BX exchange pans out.

BX looks good. I wonder how much it will hurt their volume that they are US only?

I have no doubt they will be looking for avenues to bring international traders on board as well, maybe not right away but they would be crazy not too.

I thought the dark pool was gone.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

I think it is. I don't see an option for it anyway.

Meanwhile, Tradehill is incredibly flat: http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/thUSD#rg5zvztgSzm1g10zm2g25l

Argumentum ad lunam: the fallacy that because Bitcoin's price is rising really fast the currency must be a speculative bubble and/or Ponzi scheme.

Something isn't right about that.  Tradehill has a reasonable level of activity. Mt. Gox has about 10x more volume and 6x more market depth, but Mt. Gox is more volatile. The bigger exchange should be less volatile.

I think Tradehill and Gox share so many users, the only people really getting money are the ones with multiple accounts.  Keep the TH nice and steady while all the fun is had on the other market.

Hopefully it will switch next week.  And then the week after Bitcoin7 becomes fully legitimate and then they enter the fray (with so many haters to them already, I imagine it would make for some fun).

Still haven't seen the effect of people moving funds out of gox and into tradehill

Let's be real, Gox is all that matter right now until someone challenges them, maybe it'll be camp bx (but it's severely lacking for international use) but it sure isn't tradehill right now.
