I don't think Scott should of sent you Yoshi's number directly, but you definitely shouldn't have posted it up here on the forums for all of btctalk to see.

And why is that? If this man is scamming people out of thousands of dollars absolutely they should have his number.

I'm still puzzled by this. I was under the 100% scam impression from the beginning. Then Myrig appeared and they have been around and conducting business for a while (under bitmainwarranty name). If in doubt I don't buy, so even if I'm not 100% sure it's a scam, I will not buy until they have a track record of delivering working miners.

USA and Japan addresses of Myrig, as well as phones for other countries are in their contacts page, here: https://myrig.com/contacts/

You are all ignoring a huge point my conversation made. Any company conducting business within the United States has to have a federal and state ID. It is common practice to request these ID numbers from prospective businesses that you wish to do business with. It is a way of establishing legitimacy by verifying with the government that they indeed exist. Bitmain warranty may exist at that location, but myrig certainly does not. They don’t have a location in America yet Halong claims they are their sole distributor to the US.

@krisgt20, excellent research.

Has anybody ever had work done by Bitmain Warrany (myrig.com) and knows their legal business name? Maybe their name was listed on Credit card charges or from PayPal? Any legal business can be looked up on the Colorado Secretary of State website. I have tried the most obvious names, but nothing comes up.

When the advertised shipping time date comes around and the miners are not in the customer's hands, then that's a massive issue. This company has enough known names and fiscal backing that I consider it a legitimate project. Compromising a private discussion between you and a Halong representative will probably make them less likely to engage with the community here. There's a reason why you blacked out your numbers on the images you linked, right? Respect the privacy of those that may not their personal information readily spread around like that.

There are more tax advantageous countries to ship miners from outside the US. From my understanding, Myrig is not shipping these miners on behalf of a US entity. The Colorado facility is probably Yoshi's Bitmain/Myrig's repair facility, not necessarily the distribution hub.

Holy hell you are dense and will defend them until the end. Once again, if people are being scammed, transparency needs to be seen. There is absolutely 100% nothing wrong with sharing someone’s phone number. Your thought process is mind boggling. It’s ok to send them $10-$30k but it’s not ok to have their phone number on a public forum if something goes bad? I blacked out my numbers because I am not the one trying to sell a product, they are. If myrig really had a facility here they would be able to provide that information plain and simple.

The last thing that's needed is a hunt compromising every private discussion with Halong. Are you going to call Yoshi, record the conversation without his consent and post it here next? As indicated, you're probably going to discourage them from being open with anyone in the future. That may be dense to you, that's exactly how I would react if someone started to post all my conversations out there.

Bitmain Repair/Myrig has no requirement to currently provide that to anyone that requests that in relation to Halong. If they actually directly import and then distribute from inside the US, that changes things.

Everyone had an equal opportunity to visit and visually inspect one of these machines in person. People can make their own conclusions based on the amount of information available, as many already have, especially after a 60 page thread. Now it's the waiting game until Batch 1 is due.

Yoshi told me I can order 4 to 5 of these via paypal or cc.

I can pay in late March for early April delivery. Until he fails me I have no worries.
The
I have no risk this way.  As to Yoshi refusing to give you id tags you gave out his number you would give that out to.

It is simple don’t buy a thing until they sell and deliver to me.

If they don’t sell to me and ship to me you don’t lose a thing.

I repeat I did business with him for years.  He has not done wrong to me.

I am shocked that someone such as yourself would find divulging a telegram phone number to potential buyers a big no no considering they have taken so much money from people. To me it just appears you are playing devils advocate or have more skin in this game than you are leading on. And as for divulging federal and state tax ids you know that’s publicly available right? There is nothing secretive about a businesses phone number and tax ids my God....where do you guys work?

My mother worked for the IRS for 25 years and retired from them.
My wife worked for the IRS for 33 years and retired from them.
I worked for the IRS for a few years left them went back to college on a GI benefit got a degree in accounting.  Went to a big acounting firm was laid off in the 90's went back to my first love pc's
and have been involved with pc builds and designs for about 20 years.

You violated Yoshi's privacy and now accuse me  of being non transparent about this gear.  All I have said is I believe it is real and I have yet to pay for any gear.
So if I said wait till I order the gear and get before you order any gear from them how on earth do you think  you can lose.  You simply need to wait for about 52 days. And not open your wallets till I confirm it is safe.

Listing a companys phone number is not violating anyone’s privacy policy and neither is divulging a company’s tax ID’s. Where did they teach you that in the IRS? I’m sorry my BS flag is waving hard at that statement.

That exact number given to me is on bitmain warranty’s site plain as day. I am not and don’t intend on giving a cent to this company on no one else should either.

The problem is not that  he  did what he did. The problem is he drew erroneous conclusions about Company ID numbers .

Here is one example of why a company will not reveal it Tx ID

the  company is a sole proprietorship and the owner uses his social security number as the tx id.

My ebay business is filed with a schedule C  using my SSN  my sales here are on the same  schedule C.

I am a company  that will not give  its TX ID  out.

This is my ebay name same as here.

https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=philipma1957

Frankly  his research only proves he has no understanding of privacy rules  that may be followed  by a company.

And as I have stated I have not spent 1 dime  on 1 unit  at this time.  As for those that have sent a lot of BTC to this company they have far more

courage then I do.

I would advise krisgt30  to not state conclusions about a company based on misunderstanding of tax laws and privacy concerns.

here is his post that makes  the conclusions :

Several screenshots incoming after speaking to Scott and Yoshi directly. This backpedaling is really bad. This is sadly a 100% confirmed scam based on the contradictory speaking and refusal of simple business information. I sent an email to Yoshi asking for the address of the Colorado warehouse and for their state and federal tax ID for that location and the email is the response I got from Yoshi.

...

my concern is YOU won't pay until it is prudent.

but for others on here planning to PAY NOW be aware of PayPal dispute dates

Be aware, Paypal is within 45 days for filing a dispute, from the date you pay for the stuff....and IF you want to extend that to 60 days,

make sure you file a dispute before the 45 days are up...thus it can be as much as 60 days...

this also goes for stuff on partial pay (like 30% down) etc

hope you won't have to use this, but something to be aware of...also use a credit card for more protections

*you probably know this* just tossing it out there for those who plan on paying with PAYPAL TODAY...in case this drags out a

couple of months...If you get these or any other items...thems the rules

anyway, thought it was a prudent reminder to others on here, that may not know about this stuff

...

is it possible yoshi is being correct..ie....they are just acting as a 'pass thru' on this pre-order equipment that they too have pre-ordered?

then the japanese company comment reads as true? (in other words, the yoshi group is under risk as well as any others on this product)

unclear, just tossing it out there as a possiblity...in that I'VE acted as pass thru on items...on group buys that I have not had a lot to do with on

how/who/what to pay... (not a full escrow thing...more of a shipping thing)

edit: I bring this up as an example of eastshore.xyz and bitmain ...vouching for bitmain...putting in a lot of $$$ on pre-order ...and getting shafted...

(but refunded) they were acting in a manner for bitmain..but had no control of bitmain actions. (they refunded us as well..as bitmain mined my miners

to stop LTC seg witness last summer)

anyway, that kinda of direction on this is what I am thinking (may) be some of this

Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Good advice.  Phil  is not a moron as he clearly has shown over the years.  The other people running to pay now  should realize  that  paypal gives 45 days.  So they should be ready to dispute on day 39 or day 40 just in case.
