The major challenge to cryptocurrencies and blockchain will come when central governments ability to collect taxes becomes threatened.
Then there will be a struggle between the older class due its entitlements and younger class who don't want to and can't afford to pay them.
Blockchain however is here to stay, the question is will it be in the hands of the people or will it be in the hands of a centralized government.

I believe central govs have little comprehension of the freight train about to run them over.  

I am betting on the people.
