I’m a noob when it comes to mining but with the nextgen farms coming online in China why should an individual continue to mine? Does the cost and payback period outweigh the profit?  Huh

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

That's why pools are being used.
Otherwise we wouldn't find even a block after 1 year of solo mining haha Cheesy

If you are mining individually you will not be able to mine a block too you should be connected to any mining pool which is been widely used to mine the bitcoin with the various blocks.
Ant pool and others are still supporting to miner who are invested their fund in mining.

So most of the guys gave there opinions that do not mine individually they are right because by that you may not get anything.
Well if you are thinking about mining individually then you will need a very expensive equipment which will be really hard for a single person then after that you may mine some block and gets something.

Well if you are thinking about mining individually then you will need a very expensive equipment which will be really hard for a single person then after that you may mine some block and gets something.

If you mine as single person you will never able to mine the single for a month as well. Really waste of the time if you do like that. There are many people still mining the bitcoins with the GPU and ASIC hardwares.
If you want start the mining process, these both the other are start to work better and you will get the more hash power by mining it. Compare to GPU you will be able to get the more hash rate in ASIC miners. You can go to invest on it.

mining is not dead!u have only to search for the right coin to mine every few weeks/days .
with a gpu mining rig u have a lot different options for wich coin u want to mine and important is that u can trade them direct to btc.
