When COINS down, don't think about which altcoin prices can be stable, basic is the currency altcoin price will drop when prices fall, so the COINS sold for usdt.

if you think bitcoin is going to crash then keep fiat and only fiat. better yet keep it in form of cash.

altcoins will get dumped, and when they do they will also lose fiat value at the same time. the dump takes everything down not just the bitcoin value of them. and they are not trusted investments to begin with.

tether is also a terrible choice by the way, the company backing it can disappear in a blinking of an eye.

I would go with eth and waves during a btc crysis.

Explain. What's so special about them that they would do well in a BTC crisis? Technology? Ecosystem? TA?

The only 2 stable coins that will hold value will be eth and monero. All others will falter when BTC falls aside from these two.

Why those two? Something about them fundamentally? Or just an observation that they do well when BTC drops?

ETH and WAVES could rise up someday, the reason why some alt coins are correlated with the dump and rise of bitcoin is because of the investors keep investing on both coins with the same amount of money, and we all did that at least once. Anyway, I don't see tether becoming a big things, they already disappointed  people on their hacking  incident ( though i don't believed that they are hacked or who knows).
Bitcoin is the benchmark for all altcoins and no alternative coin can take its place or even come closer to it in any aspect. I do like Ethereum and waves. Not only these two but I think Monero, Litecoin, neo, Omisego and ripple are also good choices.

However, none of them can match bitcoin. Nobody knows the exact future but if we look at the past performance of bitcoin and its present static, we can make a prediction about its future. Most probably, it won’t crash.

In a sea of red today, the answer is pretty obvious.
One crypto currency in the top 15 is showing a strong green on coinmarketcap.

Guess which crypto currency....

Yes, and it clashed as you worry about. But I don't think many people can switch to Usdt or bitusd.
Many investors waiting for this time to take at dip

If ever there be a big crash for bitcoin, many altcoins might go up and one of them is bitcoin cash. Others like ethereum, litecoin and ripple might have the momentum to go up also

When BTC crashes, which Alt will hold its fiat value? Explain your reasoning. Go.
And unless there is a dependence, I for some reason over the last few days have not seen the relationship between bitcoins and altcoins. But the growth of altcoins has seen, and the most promising one is ether.

I suppose you can look at the history charts and you'll see that it's Litecoin and Ethereum, these are the only one who were the same price during the summer correction. Why? I'm not so good at understanding how they work and why they are different , but no doubts that these are strong projects. And I'm looking at the chart patterns only.

At the moment i am not sure any will hold their value against the USD or BTC, look at the past few months when BTC has dropped, it took the alts with it. This is probably people and bots selling for BTC because of the dip.
