You have to do some research : Website, Twitther, Reddit, Facebook, BTCT.
Then you have to do some further research : Go on Linked In and try to find the profile of the different Team members of the ICO. Try to see if they are legetimate profile or fraud (try to contact them).
Then you have to try to see if they only have an idea or a product, if they have a roadmap, a team to developp the product.
On social media try to find other people talking about it, try to find if the team participated on some events.
There is also some website that rate ico but beware some are scams too.

You could find some info on google on how to process :

But this works could take some time ;p

It is difficult to know that man, try to make your own research about the project that you are going to invest, it is not difficult, it applies to all the investments that you are looking to do, doesnt matter if it is on your physical life, or on your electronic investments (like this)

But try to be careful about the ico's, a lot of them are now being scam and this is very risky because you can easily lose your funds because of them.

There are good icos, but it is really difficult to look for a real good project, because the ann board of this forum is really full of trash.
