I believe XRP will pump higher next year, a lot of speculation with the giant altcoins and I hope 2018 is the best year of altcoins. Do your homework every time you buy coin so you can make sure that you will make money on that, every altcoins has a potential to pump but only those who have a great service will be on top.

Considering the smart contract and its switch to PoS, yes! it's really promising coin in the future, but there's plenty of good coin aswell, but if I'm to buy for an investment, really recommend to invest coin
with pretty huge capital, not those few thousands dollars capital that can be easily manipulated! so I agree with you, Ethereum is the best for altcoins investment.

I would say privacy is important for 2018. So take your pick on pivx, Navcoin etc.

Picking for the best altcoin is quite confusing since some will just have a surprising run where you thought these coins don't have the potential to rise or grow. They're unpredictable as we say it but if i will pick altcoin coins on my own which i feel will be good altcoins next year, i would pick IOTA, Vertcoin, and PIVX.

There are a lot of good altcoins that have big potential for 2018. I would make a big portfolio.
I would add ETH, LTC, ETC, MNX, BOS, OMG, CDT, NEO, WAVES, TAAS. That's my 10 coins list for 2018.

I like the coin you choose except LTC, because that coin are having a little bit improvement among the rest. However the only coins I have to hold now are the followings;
