I see that, next to the "Copper" Membership, there's now also a Gold member tag.

The only one which i can find that is wearing it right now is hilariousandco, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=164822

Not sure since when he has it, but i don't think i've seen it before. Is this going to be a new donator rank or?

Also, if you are currently Legendary +  Copper rank, your "bitcoin star counter" will be bugged, and it will give you the same ones as a normal Member.

Not sure if this is done intentionally because of a lack of space, or if it simply overwrites it?

See u/Blazed for example:

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. EWallets such as Coinbase are like banks -- a central organization has complete control over your money. You shouldn't put much money in EWallets.

It's for newbies who wants their restrictions (such as posting images) to be lifted. You basically get it for a small donation. Details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104
"Gold member" I believe represents a custom title that he wrote himself, he could edit it to anything he wants. I don't think I could consider the two coins as a bug because It was meant for newbies so It made sense to have two only.

Isn't that just a custom title?

Seems like a bug (or just confusing) to me if the main point of the forum rank/coins are there to distinguish a users activity count. I realize copper should probably only have 2 coins because it is for newbies but I've always seen the coins as a way to symbolically represent an activity count.

Don't be obsessed with your desires. The Zen philosopher Basho once wrote, 'A flute with no holes, is not a flute... and a donut with no hole, is a Danish.' He was a funny guy.
