Hello Mining Community!

We are a young mining hardware manufacturer from Austria and would like to introduce the community to our products by offering three rigs to three trusted bitcointalk members to test as they wish for two months!

Why just two months? Because our margins are razor thin and we are 100% self-funded so we simply can´t afford to give our miners away for free at this time.

But, if the tester likes the rig he can decide to buy it at the end of the test phase at a 15% reduced price! (Yes, that´s how thin our margins are, we won´t make a cent on this deal even if we don´t include labor cost!)

Since I know some of the most trusted community members from lurking around the forum I would like to extend a invitation to philipma1957 and Wolf0, but everyone is welcome to throw their hats in the ring, ask questions or find a bug for us!

Bug Bounty:

Yes, we offer a “bug” bounty to everyone who finds a spelling error (Austrians can´t even speak proper German, much less English)* or other errors on our website (or our Hardware/Setup if you own one of our rigs)!
50$ in BTC or a 5% discount on one of our rigs (discount not stackable Wink) for every bug or spelling error anyone finds. (Excluding punctuation since that´s a subject of potentially endless discussions) I know it´s not much but we literally just started 6 Months ago and to be super honest blew through our budget building prototype after prototype for new Autominer generations. (Also I am pretty scared you guys will find 100 errors and bankrupt us.)

Edit: If you have any other remarks/tips/ideas about the website or the hardware please let us know, we would love to get your input and if it´s something we find useful and integrable we will send you a bug bounty too!

Please note: We are not affiliated with the software on Github with the same name and our only Website is autominer.at we do not own .com, .net or any other domain except for .at! (Austria)

Thank you for reading and please visit us at autominer.at

*Edit: Spelling bounty has been closed for now, we found quite a few things that needed changing! Thank you all who participated! Smiley

So, you're basicly a computer building company? You know all the companys who sell parts does this for free right? I could get my local computer shop to build me an 8 GPU rig easily. For free if i bought the parts there.

Great offer you got there. Giving rigs to trusted member will definitely boost your credibility. So I guess philipma will be getting one right?
I admire your effort to fund bug and spelling bounties. Shows your dedication to perfection, which is pretty much essential to everything aside from building mining rigs.

My question is how do your rigs handle heat? I was trying to look for information and cooling of the rigs but couldn't find any.

I thought it is some kind of asic mining machine. I think it should not be so hard for you to test it yourself with computer rig, as alot of people are setting up mining rig by themselves.

Hi Tidsdilatation!

We build our rigs with 13 GPUs, if your local computer shop does this for free, please get us in touch with him/her, I will pay you 100$ for every rig this guy/girl builds for us, we would save tons of money! Smiley

Hi jmigdlc99!

Thank you very much! Yes, philipma will definately get one, if he wants one!

The rigs use 2x 300mm fans in the front to "suck" the air out creating a underpressure inside the case in order to avoid "free heating" not sure how to say in english but it won´t give heat to rigs around or above it.

And sorry for the slow response time, it seems I´m limited to one message every 380 seconds or so...

Of course we tested them extensively, however we are a small startup (currently just three people and a dog) and can´t afford to employ hardware experts like wolf0 so I see this as a way to get great feedback from real experts and credibility at the same time while not bankrupting us. Wink

Hey philipma!

Thank you so much for accepting, we´ll make sure you get it in time for Christmas so you get to put it under the tree! Smiley

I loved your review of the SP20 way back when, it was the very reason I decided to buy my first ASIC rig from Spondoolies when I was just starting out in Crypto!

He mentions  the nvidia verson will have

13x 1060's
1x    i3 7100 cpu

2x   1000 watt psu's

I am hoping to get the nvidia version before Dec 25th to demo it.

I will show the interior with many shots.

I would most likely  setup a separate nicehash account

like this one

https://www.nicehash.com/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

and only use his pc to mine at it.

the address would be to a dedicated trezor wallet

Hi Proc.dev!

We have no fotos of the interior simply to keep our advantage for a little longer, if we had them online right away, we would have people offering the same thing within weeks.
I was hoping that this way we get a head start by already getting reviews in by the time the other guys are still in the design phase. It´s not a big secret and nothing we can patent but it took us quite a bit of playing around to figure out how to get it into such a "small" case and still make every cable etc. fit.

Hey wolf_miner!

That´s a question for our tech-guy but he is currently with his wife and her mother, the poor guy, but if its important for you to know, Ill ask him tomorrow!

That looks like a nice compact yet fully enclosed setup. I was wondering if this would have a noise level low enough to be comfortably used in a living room or office environment?

I am going to be testing this.

I will meter and try to see just how quiet it can be

It is why I prefer the nvidia cards for the unit I demo.

Yes, the NVIDIA version is pretty good for that, maybe not for a living room but if you have a cellar, garage or a (vented) closet it will be pretty silent... of course it also depends on the temperature, the cooler, the quieter it works.

OK, right construction of the rig is enough hard work - organizing cable management and ventilation.  And it could be a little secret  Smiley But could you present a miner results, like screenshots of miner software with temperatures, hashrates and power consumptions of your hardware and also disclose your outside conditions - room temperature, room ventilation and so. Thus we can estimate the effeciency of you rigs

Looks good! I read through all the english pages and didn't find any errors.

Though, 2 thoughts:

1. The contact has a drop-down for "Impressum" which is all in german. Don't know if that was intentional, but could be confusing for users.

2. On this page: https://www.autominer.at/products
where it says, "AUTOMINER Generation 3
Even better but no bigger!"
The phrasing of "even better but no bigger" is a little odd. It's sort of ambiguous. Maybe something like, "More power, same size!" is closer to what you're going for.

Cool company! I wish I had money to try one of your miners.

Yeah

" More hashpower in the same sized foot print "

or   " We squeezed in more hashpower in the  same sized case "

WaddleWigs has a good idea here.

"Bigger and better hashrate, but in the same size case"

Yeah haha that was kind of a insider for the guys who ordered our Gen. 2 because we used to have the slogan: "Bigger and Better" when we introduced it but I didn´t realize how confusing it would be to everyone else...  Grin

We built 3 new prototypes within 6 Months so this one customer was a little angry when we told him there is a new one just as he bought the old one so we droped that slogan as not to confuse anyone else. Should maybe drop the Gen. 3 one as well as a consequence but maybe it will make sense again once we introduce Gen. 4 but we aren´t (officially) working on that yet...

On a side note: If enough people want a Gen. 1 revival (it was super silent for home use with a insulated, filtered case) we can make a batch of 10 or so!

P.S.: The impressum is in German on intention, we are required by law to have it on our Website in our native language no matter the language of the Website.

P.P.S.: I will close the spelling bounty for now (bug bounty remains open) since we are getting quite a few false positives and double mentions and it´s quite a lot of work to answer all of them Smiley

5 bounties have been claimed, 250$ in BTC has been sent out and 5 changes have been made to the Website! Thank you to all who participated and helped us make our Website better!  Kiss

Let me know when that happens and I would be interested in testing it.

I mine exclusively with rack mount setups I built using 8 x 1080ti in 4U Rosewill cases in a datacenter.

I'd love to do a comparison Smiley

Just a followup .  Op and I have talked about me doing a demo  a youtube video  and I am hoping to get a unit by christmas.

I really have a lot of interest in this rig  and the nvidia version in particular.

Zec or Zcash is smoking.

I have 28000-29000 sols

at

https://zcash.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=dashboard

The op's nvidia rig  should really roi quickly.

At autominer.at  any info on the rig would be great.

I have sunk a lot into more gpu gear. As buysolar and I plan to have a second  solar array by the end of spring.

4 or 5 of these  would be great in the array.

What about product warranty? What happens if a card or something else breaks down a few months after purchase?

The cards have the usual warranty from the manufacturer, anything else that isn´t covered by their warranty, will be replaced by us unless it is from "misstreatment" Wink

Hi again Philipma!

We hit a little bump due to us getting a "bad memory" delivery on the NVIDIA cards (Hynix) so we will have to send them back and order new ones.
This would set our delivery date back a little but if it´s mainly zcash you want to mine with them the memory won´t have quite as much impact, so we can still send that to you if you´re ok with having a little worse ETH hashrates...

DHL  sent me a customs bill   I just paid it.

Item is in New York City  I am about 70 miles away in NJ  it is still on time for Weds the 16.
When are you planning to do the review?

I will start right now.  It arrived 1 day early (thank you Dhl)

It  had no apparent external damage to the box.

I opened it and it booted  with 7 of 13 cards  showing.

I opened the case and could see a few cards were not set fully into slots.

I set the cards and now 10 are powered and work.

I was tied up at solar array  as a rosewill tokamak 1500 what titanium psu popped a cap.  spent most of the day working on that rig.

I am doing  a bench mark  for zec.   each card is reading about 275 sols on the bench mark  So in just a bit I will be doing around 2750 sols. for 10 cards.. I will figure  the other 3 cards in the morning.  which means this is 13 x 275 = 3575 sols.

that is the same as 5 or 6 1080 tis.

The case is very big and very heavy.

I made a few videos.  will post on youtube.

the inside of the case has been modded and I won't show how he fit the cards in but it was clever.

It needs more packing.  inside should have  a few pieces  of foam to prevent cards from getting loose.

fast opinon this is better then the panda miners.

it is not very loud.

Hi kryptolarz!

We don´t put up photos of the inside in order to keep our little "secret" a little longer to ourself.
It´s nothing we could patent but we figured if someone wants to copy our design, at least we gonna make him order one of our units! Wink

yeah  I am not showing how the cards are placed.

If you buy a unit  you could copy his idea if you are handy.

You could even use the 1070 itx from msi  but may need to use 10 vs 13

here is the review thread.

I got all 13 cards working

3500 sols  which  is = to 5 or 6 1080tis

That is understandable, you called me earlier today, I'll call you back/send you an email within the day.

Cheers!
