Hello guys,

I'm mining Monero with MinerGate v7.0. From time to time there are big discussions in the chat on their website about the lower H/s of MinerGate GUI compared to the consoles. Is is true that they "steal" hash power using their GUI?

Name it how would you like. The fact is your faster if use direct mining with "console" miners.

The minergate miner may also be less optimized than other so-called console miners which would explain why it is slower. I’d suggest mining with a console miner for best performance. Not sure about them stealing hashpower but if the miner is slower why use it? It’s a big price for small comforts.

Well, I have in om my work PC because its all the time on so, just making some extra $ for gambling it's not a big deal . I've tried GUI on my gaming PC + my TV pc and both together making around 900H/s so I'm considering installing a miner. I guess then I will try the console one for this purpose.

I'd stay away from minergate as much as possible. The reason there are lots of discussions regarding minergate about lower hash rate and etc. etc. is because it is true. Minergate has time and again proven itself to be run by greedy profit oriented developers. Just do a quick google search on "minergate scam" and you will find all sorts of evidence pointing to how minergat developers are associated with numerous scams.
