I just checked coinmarketcap and see the trading volumes and its aside from few good coins like ETH, that exchanges has been trading shitcoins. LOL.
It's a sign that this exchange will run off with their money with those trading volumes as well. Some of the coins in there, I haven't heard of them.
Not sure though how much money they got from their customers but I'm sure not that much but it is still a scam if the site didn't get back. But I wouldn't be surprise if they didn't.

This site is unpopular even though it was announced here few years back, also there were posts about withdrawal issue before this offline thing. Seems that several users of the site came here on bitcointalk because of this. I saw newbies posting in the ANN Thread about the site being inaccessible since 23rd. Looks like it's an exit scam. Anyone who has used to site I advise you to change your passwords and emails because you can count your money on it he will use them maliciously or sell them on. This is the risk with the smaller exchanges that they can exit so fast and don't have any identity linked with the exchange.

However it looks like there are few traders who used to hold quite good amount of bitcoin there. Coingather’s 24-hour trade volume as being just 11.32 BTC, or around $93,000 $93000 daily trade volume means atleast 11 BTC+ has gone... |

Its just becoming hard everyday to have a trust on the exchange sites in the crypto world entirely both the established ones and not so popular ones For the established ones, in as much as they the likelihood of them running off with users money, is low (although its a possibility), they are fond if series of policy change that would take effect immediately, bad customer support that tickets will have to be open for several days, etc. And for the not so popular ones, they tend to be more faster with answering of tickets but at the same time they really don't have much to lose in terms of reputation like the case of what is happening here so they can just betray clients confidence and bolt as they wish. Moral of the story, the moment you have huge funds on an exchange, never wait till tomorrow before taking action, that might be the most costly mistake ever made |

Even if there were no official info, the fact that Coingather has been silent for days now is a sign that there are problem within their website, whether it's a hack or they're running with their user's money (or maybe they're just incompetent in managing their social media). How long are you going to monitor their addresses anyway, 2 years? Look, based on the past exchangers who ran away with their user's money, things are not looking good for Coingather, even if they did comeback I'd bet most of their users will withdraw their alts and btc asap. |

They have so many accounts that it's going to take a while for all those funds to be moved and not a lot of people have the private keys meaning they have all the time in the world to move the funds. |

Regardless on if the site was Hacked or if Rapta ran off with our money. The fact stands that he has had more then enough time my now to make an announcement and update everyone on the situation. Further more I am offering a bounty to be determined by the information received for ALL the exchange and owner info.

Can someone in USA contact the FBI or go to a police station and say what is happening with coingather? Godaddy and Cloudflare probably has the Rapta contact or they can give informations about who registered the domain name.
Cloudfare can only open their customer's info when there are official letter from the authorities, you can contact the FBI via Emails and wait for their response, if they can arrest the owner of BTC e, why can't do the same with coingather Even then, there are a chance that Rapta registered using fake data. |

I am sorry for the money lost but in the forum there has been a dozen warnings about not keeping your money in exchanges except a very few which you will do trading with. And that warning has been for much better known exchanges which they turned scam too. So I am not surprised at all if another exchanges from the mass has pulled an exit scam. Users have the main duty to safeguard their coins and not believing that some exchange will do the same for you.

The HTMLCOIN Brazilian community was able to contact the FBI regarding the disappearance of Coingather. They have invested too much money and needed to take this very seriously. Hi Specktroman, Out of curiosity, how do you know if my funds are still in my wallet on Coingather? How can we check addresses? I hate to think the worst but what else are we supposed to think? It's been a week and Rapta has disappeared? No social media announcements have been made - which we all know can be quite effective. I've been doing a lot of digging and there is a ton of information about Coingather on different internet monitoring websites. Even though it was a small exchange compared to some - still thousands of people visited everyday and I'm they feel as helpless as I feel. So whoever is reading this - I've spent the last few days - tweeting, emailing new organizations, authorities etc to get some attention on this - and I think anyone who wants to needs to do the same. How come you know that it's "officially hacked"? It seems like you are aware that the chances are that the admin just took off with user funds big time, if it was a hack they probably would have stayed up or at least made some announcements.
Sad for anyone who had BTC on their site. Another example why you should NEVER store large amounts of BTC on an exchange for no reason.
