Wall Street is going to start bitcoin, and it's already out of the news, and they've bought a lot of bitcoins, and the Chicago exchange may be the time for them to ship it.

This can either work in favour or to the detriment of bitcoin we will see. In theory it should give an initial pump but a lot of people have said as soon as bitcoin starts going too mainstream ie. when your neighbour knows about it.. then that is the time to get out.

Yes,most of the financial firms are nowadays entering bitcoin market,CME nd now CBOE.On one side,CEOs like jamie dimon criticizing bitcoin and on the other side,wall street firms getting interested in bitcoin.They have started to realize that bitcoin could be no more avoided just for the reason that they belong to wall street financial firms.So,they have just decided to join the winning team. Whatever Jamie Dimon said, JPMorgan Chase & Co. seems to be changing that sentiment a little because even his finance chief, Marianne Lake, has struck a more measured tone saying that "The firm is open minded to the potential uses for digital currencies so long as they are properly regulated." They aren't saying that BTC needs to be regulated, because it can't be. However, the investment vehicles that some people would use would be. CME and CBOE have some of that "regulation" in place. They have things in place to prevent people from getting hammered with losses from what I've read. |

The wall street will start soon this maybe a signal for other to go on bitcoin I can see crypto currencies are now heading a brighter future. I am waiting for Amazon and Alibaba to finally announce also their acceptance of bitcoin as a mode of payment. The future is going to be a big hit for many users and investors can't wait to see what's gonna happen next.

I just hope they make plans for bitcoin to further increase the price. Although not possible now, who knows. I just have a bad opinion about the move step in Bitcoin.

Anyone getting involved in these futures at no point has any exposure to Bitcoin itself. It's all dollars.
The question is will they be all over the exchanges playing them to whatever ends they desire and then extracting dollars from CME when their desired result is achieved?
There are no laws against pump and dumps, front running, wash trading, or anything. It's an absolute free for all. Is there anything to stop them from doing this?
I can't detect anything other than the ability or inability to get on the exchanges in the first place and I'm not sure which are and which aren't available to these people.
That's a real valid point mate! I never thought in this way. It is very much possible for them to capture the volume first and then fork it few times to take control of the entire blockchain. If it happens, a majority of the institutional investors will move from the main blockchain and join the new forked coin because they will be managed by professional and legal financial institutions. That may be a corporate plan just about to start and we are just seeing what is being shown to us. Probably not getting the bigger picture at all. It's a food for though. Can you please open up a new thread with your view so that more people can share their views on it? |

anyone can move to bitcoin without having to wait next month, because bitcoin is able to accept anyone participating in bitcoin development, as it does not damage the bitcoin image.

That would be a great advertisement bitcoin and it would definitely reduce the number of skeptics and hopefully increase the acceptability of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. |
