i see many posts of people complaining about chaos and posts on wrong threads etc. With this poll I hope to find out if we could improve the situation by changing our use of the report button.

I'm shocked at the amount of censorship here. Maybe I was naive but I just figured this would be one of the last places I'd find it. I'm not saying I'm an anarchy guy. I don't want to read scam and porn posts but maybe others like that shit who knows. I know that I LOVE stupid (even off-topic) jokes in a thread to break up the monotony of 2 goobers yelling at each other, but apparently I'm in a minority there so my preferences have been deemed worthy of censorship - not that I know that a reply of mine has yet been censored but I know I've been a part of threads that were deleted and/or banished to some nearly hidden and very off-topic section of the site.

I just came to learn more about Bitcoin. I generally prefer to become a part of any social gathering by working my way in with jokes. Is that so bad? LOL, really, I'm floored at the jackboot atmosphere around here. And with so many posts about "how do we expand the Bitcoin community"... the whole tattletale to the moderator stuff is the opposite way to accomplish it.

I used to day trade Bitcoin successfully. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

i posted this poll in a moment where i was reading others complaining about off topic posts and thought maybe the moderators would move them if they only knew. moving mining to mining, meta to meta etc. has nothing to do with censorship. not all posts belong to the general discussion.

besides this forum is run by someone and if he decides he will delete every post containing the letter z, he can do so. people would find other places to get together and it's his right to not like z from today on.

My first reaction was to report your post to a moderator. That's just my style of humour, but then thought don't want to create extra work for someone just for a joke.

I've reported 3 or 4 for being blatant spam.

Not being a moderator, I don't know how inundated they are with requests, but if they openly asked for more spam reports I'd probably click it more often to help out.

Huh? I've NEVER seen so LITTLE censorship of a moderated forum before. I'm shocked that we haven't devolved into 4chan... The moderators were chosen well.

As a newbie forum moderator, let me add some prospective to this post:
Typically, I end up moderating more posts that I find on my own than reported posts... And I can typically count the number of posts I moderate in a day on one hand. I haven't seen a single report in two days.
