As predicted by many cryptocurrency experts bitcoin has crossed $9000. It will surely cross $10000 mark by the end of 2017. Restricted supply and ever growing demand is making bitcoin more and more volatile. Due to this the value of bitcoin is rising daily. By studying current pattern of price hike and also of expected corrections in price. It is concluded that bitcoin price will hit mark of $25000 in next five years.

We do not know what is feeding this growth, so it is a bit early to predict how the price trend will influence the future. If this is purely speculators manipulating the market, then we are going to see some big corrections. If this is institutional capital flowing in, then the price trend might take us much higher than this.

I see no major events or positive announcements that might influence the price now.    

I understand your point. The only positive things that I'm hearing is that CME rumor, but yes its a rumor that this massive pump if I may see is out of proportion. Is investors really pouring this cash? Is this the anticipation for CME rumor? Or maybe individuals are buying because there are real state properties now that are being offered in bitcoin.

As for for 2018, if we are going to predict $25,000, it doubles the current price. The the growth of bitcoin will be around 200% correct? This year alone we have been growing more than 900% so a 200% perfect growth prediction is a safe estimation I guess. And its a fair estimate so that we can't be disappointed when bitcoin can get that, though its too early to say, a lot can happen in the future.

I would like to say that this is a silly speculation but I cannot really say that if bitcoin is concern. It may or may not reach 25K. But what I like to point out is that this trend cannot run that long. It will soon hit a bump and maybe a dump will happen. The speculation of 25K by end next year will probably not happen. Plus, if we reach that high, this forum will be filled with threads complaining how high transaction price (in dollars) is. That would scare new money to come in.

I am much more pessimistic then to expect this ludicrous trend up will continue indefinitely (as much as I wish this to actually happen). Perhaps it will hit 10 000$ but I can't stop thinking this rise is related to Tether uncontrolled emission and at some point tether will suffer either insolvency or bank problem, that will tear down bitfinex and consequently drop BTC price 30%-40% instantly, then panic will bring it further down.

Base on the current trends in the price of bitcoin $25000 by 2018 can be very realistic, because just in January 2017 the price of bitcoin was below $700 but in November it price sky rocket to above $9000 and still counting and I believe before the end of this year 2017 it will hit around $10000 and above. Maybe or maybe not know one really knows. But as per the chart of Bitcoin's value this year is spectacular, so far it is a great run for Bitcoin. I think 25k next year isnt gonna happen, maybe give it atleast the minimum of 1 and a half to 2 years. I know we're close to the much awaited 10k mark but that doesnt mean Bitcoin will continue to rise, there will be a huge correction and upcoming forks in the future or even a dump that will happen, anything can happen.

Maybe. It's less than 3x from the current price, so it's not impossible. However, I do not think that there will be two consecutive years with a rise for an order of magnitude, like in 2017.

It's not unrealistic for it to hit that point in the not so distant future although as prices rise to that amount we will also have many selling so it could counteract massive rises in value.

With regards to the value of bitcoin next year, it is possible for bitcoin to increase to $25,000 if what happened in 2017, will happen to 2018 as well. However the price of bitcoin is very volatile as to when the price would fluctuate. No one knows when it would be, we just need to be updated with the news on bitcoin. https://news.bitcoin.com/ We would need good news all the way for bitcoin. As of now, the price is slowly going up however with the hardfork that's going to happen on December; the effect is yet to know. Just always be aware of news and happenings.

It's so funny to think that some months ago everybody was saying that bitcoin possibily could hit 10k or more til the end of the year. So when we finally get there, the same people starts to say "ah it's a bubble" "it's going to correct until 4k usd" "Do not buy now because we are ath". And now seeing price, I agree with you 100%, we'll reach 25k usd next year, maybe in the half of the year, maybe in december 2018. What I know is that bitcoin is breaking barriers never seen before in the crypto's history.

My own prediction is it will hit 6 digit. This year was one heck of a ride. from hundred to a thousand. why not make a trend and make it a hundred thousand next year.

I think that's too early for bitcoin to hit $25,000 next year. Many are expecting that it will be fine at $15,000 but if the same thing will happen next for this year, then the price will be calibrating from $15,000 - $25,000 or even higher. With those forks, they are just giving more free coin and people are allowing to keep on buying. It just adds to the demand of bitcoin when people earned from it.

I think that it is not relevant if the forks happen, because the growth potential is in bitcoin itself, and it is genuine bitcoin (BTC) that drives the other forked chains price up, not the other way around

As to the price, I think that definitely 25k is reachable

Its possible, not just possible but inevitable. The question is not if it can reach that, but the question is always just when it will reach that price. Right now, I don't see any reason why bitcoin prices would go down anymore. Since right now there is no immediate threat to bitcoins like the previous months about forks and other regulatory problems. I think right now it is smooth sailing for bitcoins and the price will go up till probably $12,000 before it corrects.
