Bitcoin could 'easily' reach $40,000, says man who predicted current high

The world’s most valuable cryptocurrency bitcoin can quadruple in price from the current record high of $10,000 in the next 13 months, predicts former Fortress hedge fund manager Michael Novogratz. On Monday, the digital currency smashed the $10,000 mark on South Korea’s Bithumb, one of the world’s biggest exchanges for cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin started the year at below $1,000 and has since jumped more than ten-fold. According to Novogratz, by the end of 2018 bitcoin’s rival ethereum “could be triple (from) where it is as well.”.

The investment guru claims that "probably over 20 percent" or "maybe even 30 percent" of his net worth is in cryptocurrencies, split roughly in half between bitcoin and ethereum. Novogratz expects that to increase by about six times to $2 trillion by the end of next year.

Demand from Asia, mostly from Japan and South Korea, has been the most significant contributor to bitcoin's gains since China halted all exchange-based crypto trading. Novogratz says that in contrast to oil and renewable energy products, companies cannot produce more bitcoin to meet demand since the digital currency's supply is limited to 21 million coins.

The problem is that there are so many predictions that no one knows which to follow. Whilst he may have done a correct prediction now, he may just as well be wrong next time 
That is what people often get wrong. Obviously, no one is going to highlight what someone else says who got it wrong this time. He could've guessed this by dumb luck, making his current prediction worth nothing.

Anyways, I feel like it's going to hit $40,000 too. Easily. Just as the other bunch of crypto-fans wandering around this forum.

Yeah,I think there is a possiblility for that because nowadays the price growth has been increased so in future we can expect the price growth more.But $40K in just 13 moths looks very fast but it looks reachable.If that happens everyone who holding the bitcoin will be happy.

I think it won"t be easy as one, two, three. Bitcoin is volatile in nature and most of the people here are awared of that. Changes on the market value of bitcoin such as ups and downs are always expected. Indeed, the rate of increase at this moment is high but still, as I've said Bioin is volatile so there'll always be changes to happen so I think more years will come before this thing occur.

It could happen the price of bitcoin already reaching 10,000 US dollars and a possibility that by the end of the first quarter of 2018 bitcoins price might play around 15,000 - 20,000 then with I think forty thousand is within reach by the end or even earlier than December 2018. The problem is that there are so many predictions that no one knows which to follow. Whilst he may have done a correct prediction now, he may just as well be wrong next time 

how about just stop following what others say and come up with your own "prediction". everyone who has ever made some speculation has some reasons behind it, read them and learn from their speculation. try to analyze why they come up with it and also try to figure out which one is true and which one is far fetched.

Well, for some perspective, Bitcoin grew about 900% this year. If the trend is to continue, you are looking at around $90,000 by the end of next year. $40,000 is easily reachable if you look at it from that perspective.

Based on my researched by end of 2018 Bitcoin is expected to be somewhere between $21000 to $45000.

Personally i think any big crash is not coming for now , at least some period of time.

I personally think that it is possible for bitcoin to get the $40,000.00 per coin they mentioned on here. Nothing is really stopping the price growth and mainstream adoption by society seems to be growing with each passing week with no end in sight. Also the futures market will also fuel bitcoin price growth even more i think.

Market cap, volume and price have increased exponentially during the past year, so I don’t find surprising these predictions.

Yes, McAffee’s is the most famous one his prediction ends by 16th of July, 2020.

The question is if it will keep growing exponentially, as many people believe, and until when. We have to be prepared for downward trends and bear market, though.

I think this amount is very high. The people will want to cash out their bitcoins and go to cash.
Growth falls and setbacks of course but that's a very optimistic prediction.

To be able to hit 100k in just next year is seriously a very optimistic deduction. Judging by the percentage of increment so far for bitcoin it seems achieveable but if if that really happens so shortly the wealth difference will be heavenly. All in all i do not think it will hit that amount next year.
