Bitcoin has kept rallying through the last few days, but now BTC/USD markets are faced with a resistance point that seems particularly hard to break. Prices have been looming around the $10k mark but traders have so far only been slowly chewing through large sell walls that form strong resistance at this point.

How much do you think that it is going to rise? I was never expecting to see it going over $10000 just by this year.

I was talking with my cousing by phone today, he told me that he had more than 3.30 bitcoins on his wallet.dat
But he does not remember his private key and the password, and of course, the recovery phrase. I told him that he was dumb as hell, he now could have more than thirty thousand dollars, oh my god, i dont even know what would i do with that amount of money.
I have some bitcoins on my wallet, but i would not even be able to face a loss of more than 0.05, they are a lot of money.

I feel the pain to that situation cause if id probably joined bitcoin a bit earlier i am surely to be a millionare to it lol But seriously $10000  of bitcoins  potential progress was not expected to grow this hard even some experienced speculators didnt think it will grow this big and was only expected over $8000 this year end and maybe it will be even $11000 for the year end

No one could ever expect this to happen at the moment we entered January. All "experts" and "analysts" you see speak out about a bubble or further increase, are just throwing around with guesses based on what they see happen in traditional markets, or this market before this massive bull run started. At this point there are so many contributing factors to current growth, that we might go up all the way till $25,000-$30,000 before the end of the next year. If we have institutions entering this market, then sky is literally the limit for what levels this market is going to reach. In easy terms, anything can happen from this point, even a serious correction at some stage.

Damnnn that sucks for your friend. And while he lost out on $33,000 dollars now, in a few years those missing bitcoin of his are gonna be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars! Then he'll REALLY be feeling it!

The  buyers have slowly been churning away at all of the sell offers and it has been quite a strange experience seeing bitcoin sit just under 10k for quite some time, normally it moves so rapidly one way or another. I think once 10k is finally broken then there may be little resistance stopping bitcoin from pushing on towards and past 11k.

The price of the bitcoin is already 9900 dollars and anytime the price will reach 10k dollars and i hope that really happen so we can make more profit. Those people have extra money in your wallet right now you can invest that in bitcoin and you will see your money grow.  But invest only you can afford to lose because even the price continue to increase they have possible the price decrease.

I just checked the charts and its now over $10,000. Last year, I thought this will happen after a few more years but it turns out it happened sooner than expected. The month November to January is really critical. I think the price can move up to $11,000 or more until January next year and there might be a short price correction on december but its honestly a gamble if you wait for it.

Rough on your cousin. But hey, don't be too harsh on him. Everyone does end up making mistakes and it's not necessarily his fault. However, if he has any connection to his private key or his password, that would be key in getting his money back. You should ask him if he does. Also, you're in the boat with a lot of people. Even the smallest increments of bitcoin mean so much to people. Perhaps we will end up using another unit to measure the average bitcoin transaction nowadays?

This area is up for grabs! PM me if you're interested.

We always are worrying for that poor guy, but consider that since he was a true early adopter, he probably has at least as much as he spent on those pizzas, and is probably partying everyday when thinking about his now huge fortune.

That's a nice way to think of it, unless of course he developed a pizza addiction and that was just the first of many 5k bitcoin pizzas! It really is crazy to think of how little bitcoin cost back on its release and compare that to the price now. They will be few but there will be plenty who are as you said and are now multimillionaires just by getting in early for very little money or none at all!
