Yes, bitcoin is gaining huge popularity each and every day and that is giving it a serious bullish push and without doubt it would keep giving it further push as we enter next year. I would not really say most people really have the full understanding of bitcoin and which is why little spikes like this have been followed by huge drop in price as a result of FUD.

Yes.The high media exposure has created awareness about bitcoin among more people.So,they immediately try to know about bitcoin and start investing in it.

Also,CME entering bitcoin market has made thousands of new accounts got created in coinbase.It means more demand for bitcoin.This effect may continue more for even one month or more.

If any new developments occur at that time,bullish trend may even continue for even more months.

But let's not forget that bitcoin has real practical use, so there are a lot of people buying because they know bitcoin has all the potencial to become a new store of value asset, and if you compare it to other assets on the same category, like gold, then you must agree that bitcoin price is still very small, and it has great investment potencial. This of course is still speculation, and it could go wrong. It all depends on how regulation is done, and how investors will deal with it, but I it's not just "popularity" with no actual potencial that justifies it's popularity.
