A fair society is one that treats all equally. I think equal excess to opportunity is the most important thing. At least give people the opportunity to progress. This is just a thing of words in a sentence, to actually implement these would take unbelievable shift in public though and a overhaul or geostrategic powers.

Fair can have two meanings, one being justice and the other equal. An equal society is exactly what is sounds like when everyone is equal in everything from rights to money to clothes. A just society is one where everyone gets what they deserve. If you work hard you get money. If you have good habits you will be healthy.

To me an equal society kinds of sounds like socialism but I think that I would prefer to live in a society where everyone is equal. I think however that we live in a more just society than a fair one. So many people are not equal but just as many do not get what they deserve.

What do you think? Do we live in a fair society? Is it more just, equal or something else entirely?

Thanks for the thoughts!

I think I live in a world of compromises. Where you may have freedom but limited. If you wanted to get rich work hard your ass be employed or if your tough build a business. Its Equal until youve been awake that its not.

a just society means giving everyone what is entitled, or should be accepted by it, so that it can carry out its obligations without obstacles. The right to free speech, the right to a secure and orderly life, the right to a proper education, the right to freedom of worship according to religion and belief, the right not to be punished before proven guilty by law, etc., all of which need to be firmly protected from the law of the state. Therefore, to bring about justice, the law must be upright and bind all people equally and indiscriminately, including the ruler.

There is nothing like fair society in the world now. In a word fair society is just a fairy tale.

A fair society is not being biased. Not being one sided. Being considerate of both sides. Those who does not tend to look down unto others because of the lifestyle difference. Having a fair society means being in a society that does not give designation who must comes first because of their wealth.

A fair society for me should be not just about giving equal opportunities to everyone but treating others with respect and love.

I'd love to live in a just society, but it's very hard to achieve. People built the world this way because they like to be above others, they like the ladders of society and want them to exist. It's possible, but would require a complete reset, like a nuclear war.
An equal society is also a myth, but this one is much worse than a just society. This one, contrary to just society, is completely unsustainable. You can't have equality as long as people are different. You have smart and dumb people, strong and weak. You can't put them all on the same level and make them ignore those features that make them unique.

A fair society would be one where most members would feel heard and respected although you will never reach a 100% of the population thinking something is fair due to the differences between human beings, this is why a society needs to have rules that model most human behaviors

In my point of view in regards of being fair is being just. You get what you deserve because it is unfair in some ways if all is equal. For example, in a company you have different job title is it okay if you are an admin and then you get same salary rate of a trainee.

Fair society does  not define equality but also fairness. Fair society refers any society where a principal of justice. Having worked out where people should be equal in, right to give opinion to society in any matter equally. Decide how to enforce this equality in the next problem together. Fair society is a society in which everyone is equal. There is no difference between members.Everyone has their own attitude, and they all respect it.This is very important for the whole society.Everyone knows their jobs, and everyone keeps it.People don't know how important it is.People have to stick together. It is very important when we have support from other people.

A society is an organized group working together or periodically meeting because of common interest, beliefs, or profession.
A fair society is when everyone in the society respects each other. Anyone's opinion is accepted and everyone has their right to express themselves without being judge. Every decision they made in the group must not offend others. A fair society accepts everyonr for being who they are and what their capabilities are. There are no biased decision in the group.

I think a fair society is the society with equal opportunities and rights theres no such poor and rich and there's no kind of discrimination in every opportunity like age , physical, and social class discrimination. And also a fair society has a fair Justice and free from corruption.

“Life is unfair,” but we have the power to change things for the better.  In light of the multidisciplinary research on fairness, I define the term in a new way, and I argue that both capitalism and socialism fail the fairness test.  I call for a new social contract based on balancing three complementary fairness principles: equality, equity and reciprocity, and I propose a set of transformative reforms that would move us toward the ideal of a fair society.

I would rather justice than equality. Fair is not only about eyes for eyes, or same size and form for all subjects, but more about proportionality. Even in making tea, a proportionality is necessary. Similar portions of water, sugar, and tea won't make a great tea, the proportional portions will. So is in life and society and socio-economical-political systems I guess.
