First of all I am so sorry if I starting it with sharing my story first than start the suggesting topic right away.. But well I am "Newbie" and just found this forum because of btc price and the crazy growth.. I was joining this forum by referral of my friend that making some eth(money) from bounty on this forum. And when I try to registering it, I got surprised that my IP is already got blacklisted as evil IP. Then I got to use my friend network at SG by using te*mv*ewer creating an account. And start reading rules and FAQ, etc.. But when I start trying to read some other thread and replies.. All I see is some (not all of them) people just posting useless or off-topic or even asking opinion about something that will lure all the junkers or farmer post all the sh*t out.. As specially "newbie" posts.. almost all of them is post for activity as for ranks.. And my mind was.. Well I do has the same thinking too, that I have to write something in this forum so I can gain activity and start the bounty.. I don't know if I was junking or not.. But giving opinion on the forum was the best way to avoid the rules and getting activity of posting.. Now what I am going to suggesting is.. How about the Rank system changed.. Change all Newbie rank can't post at all, only can read posts/threads and report junkers (Confirmed by mods first and how many she/he can reports are limited for each day) on the forum to earn points so he/she can post (set the limit he/she must reach first so she/he can earn 1 post) something to ask or posting some good posts to gain activity(ranked up). You can put some points or karma or something for it. And as reported post you can give the penalty like cutting their 5-10 activity or demoting their ranks or bans..
Example: Newbie can only read some section and only can report (with limited reports for each day) with certain range of time and gain 1 point if it get confirmed by mods.
And a reported post going to get some mark on it, that the post has been reported by who(maybe only the user that make the report can see it and let other only see it as has been reported) and awaiting for mods confirmation.
As the point newbie need to post is around 3 or 5.. And how much activity he/she needed to ranks up is all yours to recalculated it  .
Once he/she ranked up(Suggesting new rank called matured), there is no need for him/her to do that again.
And when the posts start getting good and junkers reduced.. Then you can start using some giveaway ranks up or some certain ranks can give 3 or 5 "In guidance" badge to the newbie so they can matured right away and those ranks that giving it will take responsible for it too.
The logic of this idea is now all "Newbie" need to help mods clean up the forum first by reading the forum threads than start posting an already answered questions around and all the ID farmer going to stop their doing (Spams or post junks) because of it. (He/she gonna need to report 3-5 post of his/her spammers comrade to earn one post or activity.) And when we giving them -5 or 10 activity each report.. Then they will start posting good posts and afraid of the newbies that wanted to ranks up. The cons of this idea is:
- Newbie will feel having hard time on this forum at first round.
- Too much work for admin and mods at the first round..
- Some of ranked members will screaming like crazy old hags.
- Some High Ranked members will REFUSE this idea (LOL).
- (Open suggestion what another cons of it)
The pros of this idea is:
- All the member of the forum is matured(already know the rules and spend some time to read first than posting right away) members.
- All the high ranked is really a good quality post's members.
- All the high ranked ID will skyrockets and all scammer will think twice now as the price of high ranked ID is skyrockets.
- Some High ranked will be happy with this idea (BTC_BTC)
- (Open suggestion what another pros of it)
Might happened:
- Lower the forum traffic..
- New member feel not worth it.
- Real Investor/inventor see this forum as an official Bitcoin forum talks.
- It's temporary solution, can be changed again.
- (Open suggestion for what might happened)Well maybe some people going to say that I was a fool that I'm still a "newbie" myself.. But for what I'm looking for when I was joining this forum was for some good threads and boards section on this forum, getting new friends, partners or for exchanging knowledge or items or even filling up my knowledge and opportunity for the bounty and earning money, even I having a idea for my own country folk to co-op on something.. And of course my suggestion is just for the greater good of myself and those inside or outside of this forum. So they will be willingly to join up to earn the bounty and yet they must understand the forum concept and help to protect it.. NB: It's open suggestion and I will updating it and if my grammars is bad than I am sorry and pm me what that is need to be fixed. And if this post is full of junk then I am willingly to say sorry, locking it up right away and stay silent .EDITED: - editing the lines.
- adding cons, pros, might happened.
- adding (limited report for each day)
- adding logic of the idea.
- add some code and fix a LOTof wrong grammer of mine :p |

I appreciate your suggestion and concerns about all the shitposters here but this would only put off genuine users who wanted to come here to ask a quick question or post something else of value. Sadly, the only people willing to jump through those hoops would be the spammers themselves so it wouldn't really do much other than annoy everyone else whilst slowing down spammers just a bit. If campaign managers actually did their job though and only accepted and paid for quality posts you'd soon see an increase in quality site-wide, but sadly the forum is over run with crappy ICO campaigns who do little to nothing about spam and only care about getting as many users on their campaign as possible, hence why the forum is such a shitshow for everyone.

Well, thanks for your words and taking your time to write such a long post. This issue has been debated several times in this section, but it seems that the owner is not willing to do changes. Last I read was the following, from Global Moderator mprep: ... The issue is with the number of spammers. While we could hire 10 - 20 full-time moderators (increasing the forum's expenses exponentially) and try to crack down on all the people spamming, several existing moderators proposed policy changes that would quite effectively cut off these spammers. But I haven’t heard anything else about it. I think there are many people in the forum who would willingly help to get rid of spam, myself included, apart from what we do nowadays, like reporting people or not replying to some threads. The problem is if, like hilariousetc points out, that would have some negative side effects on good posters, but as I’ve said I think it is unlikely that changes will be made. Another issue is what is going to be considered spam if measures are taken. Some forum members consider spam 95%+ of the entire Bitcoin Discussion, Gambling and Speculation sections. I think the Alts section as well, but I don’t know much about it. Some others consider that view too heavy, myself included. In the meantime, just be choosy about posts you read and reply to. |

This is exactly the same. Although it's a reasonable idea, there are disadvantages to it. As hilariousetc had stated in the post before me, it would completely stop any "quick-question users". It would also keep a lot of people from joining the site. Also the ones with good intentions. Thus, it partially fixes one problem, but creates a new one! And it also takes a lot of effort to implement this. Therefore, I feel like it's not worth it to add this system.  Personally, I feel like a simple downvote/upvote system might help a lot already. If a post gets a lot of downvotes, someone of a reasonably trusted team can accept/reject it. If it's accepted, the moderators can quickly take a look and remove them, PLUS give the user a negative point. Each amount of negative points would account to a certain punishment. It's not perfect, but it would help the forum and limit the work the moderators have to do. Going a bit off-topic into my own world of ideas again... Anyways, I feel like it's a nice idea, but it's not going to work well. We need a solution, but not this one. Feel free to make changes and republish your ideas though  |

Of course with 3 out of 5 mods approval. Which that post is automatically move to junk each day and force them to write again if there is no replies. Or using invite token that has been given to legendary or high ranks.. Then the legendary will also responsible to who he/she giving it.. Forum is discussion within topic.. If they wanted to ask something there is F&Q for it. And if they still didn't understand and wanted to ask something they should help out the forum first to be clean from junkers. Well maybe the report system going goes wrong and all mods going super busy with it.. But why not? Step by step and locking the chance of farmers getting inside this forum is good thing right? Well for scammers.. We can't do much about it.. >.< |

To be honest I am newbie at this forum. Trying to gain rank because of the rules too. But in the way to do it and the post that I read is too much junk already.. And the end I just got this idea that if I'm going to post or get activity right away is by giving some suggestion. Of course I wanted a good rep on my post too. Not just junking around. Maybe my suggestion isn't perfect and I know that the dev of this forum is struggling with ddos attack right now. But I was just trying to open some thread to handle the junkers and farmers. That's all. So feel free to give or add some suggestion on it. |

This would: Discourage new users as all public forums allow you to post something from the start, even if it's only in a single section. Give the staff a lot of additional work as a lot of these reports by newbies would be useless. You can't expect someone who just made an account to start accurately reporting others. Encourage newbies to spam reports to get it over with and be able to start posting. If you report 100 posts some of them will be accurate, so why bother to even read them? If someone would get banned for report spamming it's not a big deal since the account was new. Make high level accounts worth even more and trading flourish. |

So there is a lot of way to make this forum as public and yet it is in control. 2. Now why not put some limit on those report that he/she can do each hours or days? And if it not "us"(we all at the forum) helping the stuff/mods then who else supposed to be helping them reporting them? Useless or not can be fixed by using rules like permanent bans on false/useless reports. (It's basically a same system as "ranks" that quoting the post time and ranks needed by activity to see/open some sections of the forum). Only just they can't junking anymore.. Only reporting and if they report useless then get bans.. and if they already in ranks and post junks then they got demoted.. 3. Hell.. With this kind of system those who has high ranks will think twice if they want to junk around.. Like I said, it's demoting them.. Not banning them right away. And as for the market price of the ID in this forum going high rockets? Why bother? The main problem right now isn't "them" selling their ID's.. Then it won't be so damn hard for them to go to off topic and report all posts, and after some time when there won't be anything to report newbies won't be able to post anything. Right? I have better suggestion - add more moderators! This forum needs at least...hmm...lets see...how many sections and boards? 60+? In my opinion this forum needs 120 moderators. There you go. Problem solved. It's just - You can't run this forum with 5 moderators(number can be wrong) and expect from them to moderate 1357253 users and more than 50000 posts every day. |

At first I thought this was a good idea - rewarding newbies for reporting posts. You'd still have to let them post (can't piss off genuine posters) but you could give them some other kind of reward - maybe a faster rank to junior member or something. Then I realized people would simply start making alts and breaking the rules, just so they could report them with their main account. The amount of posts reported would probably soar, and the mods would be overwhelmed.  |
