If they can't refund the stolen funds then all the users should file case against them, this is really unprofessional.
Why they are running exchange if they can't provide security of funds, how they can justify that it was an attack and not a fraud by their own management?
Poor management of the exchange is responsible for all this, they need to justify clearly and should refund amount to users from their own pocket.

Impossible to refund the stolen amount, means we are a scam company.
I understand that they don't have the ability to recover the funds, but I think they run away from responsibility.
They should do what bitfinex did, keep running the business, and grant the users who lost funds at the hack tokens based on the amount of money they lost, earn funds from fees they take from regular activity on the website, and buy the issued tokens with the fees funds, that's the only way they can return the stolen funds and to get away from that in a good and a fair way.

It cannot be returned since if they do that their scamming tactics will be useless, and also their's no scammers yet returning the funds of their victims that's why they cannot do it. Let should make this as simple reminder that we cannot trust the exchange to store some huge balance since they will just ignore to pay if they will be hack or their are inside attacks will be happen on them.

How on earth that it is impossible to refund? If they can't refund those Nano/Raiblocks coins (if they don't hold any supply) then just refund the amount of the stolen coins using other cryptocurrency like Bitcoin or Ethereum. They are the ones that should be blamed by this hacking incident because of their poor system security, so why pass it to the customers that trusted their service? exchanges make a lot of money in this kind of business and it is impossible that they can't give it back to their users or else all of this are just an inside job type of hacking/scam company.

If they have plans on refunding people, they will refund. Remember that there's an exchange from Japan "coincheck" that was hacked too but they said that they will refund those lost funds.

There are other hacks from the past, but the owners of the trading platform has put forward to refund something to their customers but BitGrail thinks otherwise. And base on what the articles has put, the owner is very arrogant to say the least. They should work out something and not accusing the Nano Dev for not cooperating. And besides, we can't really remove the possibility of an inside job here. Really sad to hear what their stance regarding their issues.

The case will not be solve if they would not file a case suit to the people who do a criminal acts since pointing another person as a sinner will slowing the process. Let's make this a good warning and if we can maybe we should forget this if we have some balance that we can afford to lose since asking for justice in this kind of manner is sometimes hopeless and the justice is unreachable since we are in online world where people can easily hide off.

I think that the refund of stolen money in this market is very difficult because the transactions are made anonymously and not publicly. Most steals are heavily concentrated in the cryptocurrency market for the same reason. I would like to have an organization stand up to resolve disputes and fraud in the cryptocurrency market so that investors feel safer when trading.

They are not scam per se, but in a event of hack, most of them don't issue refunds unless the group file a litigation against the exchangers. And @madwica is right, its a big risk to put money in a exchange that why we have been preaching not to put all your funds on them. We don't have control because we are not holding private keys. Personally, I just put enough money in their for my trading only and withdraw most of the funds in my own wallet which I have total control.
