Hi, I am the owner of one of the 400 Hydrogen Cars in Germany and involved in the development of electrolysers. I think the idea to have a common way to pay for hydrogen with HydroCoin is very interesting. But when I look at the partners, there is not a single company involved that realy sells or produces hydrogen in the required amount and quality. On one hand the technology is still very expensive, on the other hand the demand for hydrogen in Germany is very low. I do not understand how this concept could work.

blu home" costs 10 cents, the monthly fee is 10 euros

10 cents per kWh H2 means 3.3 € per kg H2 (1kg H2 = 33 kWh H2). That is around 1/3 of the current markted price of hydrogen in Germany (9,5 €/kg) and 1/4 of the pure energy cost required to produce the gas (29 ct/kWh, Energy conversion efficiency 0,7). The ernergy required to run the station itself comes on top.

That price makes only sense if your energy cost are extremely low. This is indeed possible under certain conditions, but only down to a specific level (~5€/kg H2). In Germany you have to pay the full amount of taxes on your energy consumption even if you produces green hydrogen. You can only avoid these taxes if your source of energy is right next to your H2 production. That means, if you want to produce 20 kg/H2 per day, you need around 1MWh of green energy per day, produced rigth next to your H2 production.

The concept makes still no sence to me, except it is based on burning money.
